At Augustine Christian Academy we do things differently. We’re a non-denominational, Christian, Classical school, and our approach to thinking, learning, and applying knowledge are grounded on time-tested principles to equip our students to face the problems and issues of today and tomorrow.
Classical

Moses. Socrates. Luther. Lewis. These names echo through time representing ideas, thought, and vision that have withstood the tests of time. At ACA we believe it makes sense to draw on the great thinkers of history and our heritage to meet the challenges of tomorrow. Our students learn to memorize in the tradition of Moses, to ask questions like Socrates, to wrestle for truth as Luther, and to defend it with the fervor and intellect of Lewis. We study classical languages, history, and literature through the eyes of Christian thinkers who changed their world and ours. Christian Classical education prods the learner to view the world Biblically—seeing how ideas have consequences, and how one person, committed to Biblical truth, can change the world.
Logical
Thinking and reasoning are the foundation of ACA’s approach to education. Students from Grammar School (K4-6th) through Dialectic (7th-8th) and all the way to Rhetoric (9th-12th) read the writings of great thinkers while learning to think for themselves. Whether it’s memorizing the wisdom and truth of God’s Word, studying the logic of God’s creation, or applying those concepts to their own writings, students see that sound thinking and reasoning are always applicable. In opening a world of resources through studying classical languages of Greek, Latin, and Hebrew, they also discipline their minds to make connections, see patterns, and reason inductively and deductively. Our students in all grades are encouraged to write, speak, and communicate their ideas in learning environments that enable them to take chances without fear while challenging them to think and reason with clarity.
Radical

With all the focus on the past, you may think that ACA is focused on “then” without impacting “now.” That couldn’t be further from the truth. Our students are thinkers and doers with hearts for changing their world. They are outstanding scholars, dedicated athletes, talented artists, and young people of purpose. They are leaders and servants who are grounded in a rich history of “world changing” ideas from thinkers who were radical in their own time. Our faculty and staff are not enamored with “educationese” or swept away by the newest trend. They are dedicated professionals who know their students and set the learning bar high enough to challenge them.
We believe God desires well-educated, clear-thinking, compassionate people to accomplish His purposes; that absolute truth rings true regardless of the times; that fun and discipline are two sides of the same coin; and that to “glorify God” is not only our chief aim, but our greatest joy! That’s Radical.
