Dear Parents,

The beginning of school is just around the corner!! Ready or not!! Most of the students I’ve spoken with are ready: “Let’s get started, I’m bored.” Well, we are getting ready here at St. Augustine Academy! Please see the back of this letter for important dates and information.

The garage sale was a huge success with a great number of items donated and then sold. Thank you to Mrs. Linda Geppelt, Mrs. Gale Post, Mrs. Deleise Brewer, and a host of other volunteer parents and students who unpacked, organized, priced, and sold everything for a great cause! Over $2600 was raised for our Performing Arts program and the library remodeling. SAA Senior Mark Geppelt has already begun the remodel as his Eagle scout project and has had several SAA students and alumni helping him. (See the enclosed flyer about our new library!)

The computer lab is also being remodeled! It’s already repainted and will soon have a new floor and new computer desks. Thank you to Casey Keilbarth, another soon to be Eagle scout, his family, and friends. The room is looking great! Caleb Weir, an SAA sophomore, will soon begin work on the playground behind our building as his Eagle scout project. Everyone is looking forward to seeing this project get underway. These young men are examples to all of us and would welcome your help, donations, and support. If you would like to contribute your time, talent, or financial support, please contact the school office.

WORK DAYS AT SAA: This Saturday, July 21st, and Saturday, August 4th. Bring your tools and spend a Saturday helping us get the building ready for school to begin. We have several jobs needing done, painting, repairs, etc.

SCHOOL SUPPLY LISTS: We are enclosing the school supply lists with this letter. Check both sides of the sheet for your student’s grade and the supplies needed.

Parent Teacher Fellowship (PTF) / Very Involved Parents (VIP): We are encouraging our parents to be more involved in SAA. When we all work together our students will benefit. Consider being on one of these committees: technology, performing arts, science & math, facilities & grounds, athletics, or fund raising, etc. Watch your mail for updates on volunteer opportunities.

Charger Round Table at New Life Ranch: August 23-24 for grades 6 – 12. The cost will be $80 per person and will include transportation, four meals, lodging, and all activities. Our desire is to have every student in 6th – 12th grade attend, so make plans now for this beginning of the school year event! The Charger Round Table at New Life Ranch is very important as it helps us begin our school year with fellowship, fun, worship, and prayer. It is especially helpful to our new students!

We look forward to seeing you soon. God bless you and your family as you prepare for the upcoming school year.

Sincerely,

Larry Ehrlich
