Dear Parents,

Is it possible we are already past the first quarter of the school year? If the Grinch can steal Christmas, perhaps he also steals school days. It seems to all of us on the staff that we are speeding along as we begin looking at Thanksgiving and Christmas events. Perhaps part of the reason for the speed is the activities. We here at ACA seem to mark time by report cards and activities. Below you will find important announcements concerning upcoming events in November and December.

I want to take a moment to thank everyone who helped make the fall banquet such a success. We made the big announcement that we are changing the name of the school to Augustine Christian Academy. We were blessed by the Gospel Music Workshop of Tulsa and Mr. Michael Bates’ speech. The sharing by Mrs. Leah Farish, Mr. Caleb Gayle, Mr. Kenneth Jones, and Mr. Kirk Post was a blessing as well. The promotional video that was produced by Kenneth and premiered at the banquet is now on the web site. Every year the Lord meets us in new and exciting ways. We want to thank everyone who participated is helping us raise over $20,000 to help us with scholarship aid and other expenses. We continue to look to the Lord to help us raise funds above and beyond tuition to make the school operate in the black.

Upcoming Events:

November 9th: Senior Class sponsored lock-in for grades 6 – 12. The cost is $10 per student and it begins at 8:00 p.m. on the 9th and is over at 7:00 a.m. on the 10th. There will be staff and parent chaperones for the lock-in and students should expect a fun filled night. Flyers with all the details were distributed to students. Call the office if you have any questions.

November 12th: Grail Ball Championship games and PTF meeting at 6:00 p.m. in the ACA auditorium. Calling all parents to come and cheer for your student’s House as they compete and you too can have an opportunity to play grail ball that evening.

November 16th: Oklahoma Day Celebration. Grades 3 – 12 will be heading to Haikey Creek Park in Broken Arrow for a day full of activities. K4 – 2nd grade will be staying at the school for their celebration. This is a student fund raiser and all the grades are working hard to get pledges for their team/family.

November 21st: Grandparents Day. This is always a special time for our grandparents, parents, “grandfriends”, aunt & uncles, and our students. We begin with refreshments at 9:00 a.m. and a special program at 10:00 a.m. with music, recitations, dance, harps, violins, etc. performed by our talented students. Join us! School will be dismissed at noon following the program for Thanksgiving break. After school care will not be available on this day.

December 7th & 8th: Christmas Madrigal Dinner. A special five course meal served up with a host of Lords, Ladies, singers, and actors. This looks to be a great event and you will be amazed at the costumes, music, and pageantry. A perfect way to start your Christmas season! Please see the enclosed brochure for more information and to order your tickets.

December 17th – 19th: Final Exams for first semester. School will be dismissed early each day. Watch for the finals schedule to be sent home in early December.

December 20th – January 2nd: Christmas Break. Students will return to school on January 3rd.

Just a note about the Israel tour in the spring. Reservations and deposits must be turned in by December 3rd. This Augustine Christian Academy tour will be a life changing event for all who participate. The tour is open to our juniors and seniors, parents, staff, and friends. Tour dates are March 6 – 19th. Brochures and reservation sheets are available in the school office. There are only 25 places available for this tour so don’t delay in getting your reservation turned in.

There is quite a lot happening in these next several weeks as the calendar year comes to an end. Please check the web site or call the office if you have any questions concerning any of these upcoming events. Please continue to remember us in your prayers as we work together to raise up students who will change their culture for Christ.

Sincerely, Larry J. Ehrlich, D. Phil. Administrator
