AMERICAN LITERATURE FESTIVAL
The American Literature Festival on Saturday, April 14th, was a huge success. The Grammar School classrooms looked fantastic. The K4/K5 classroom served popcorn and had a cake walk. The 3rd/4th graders had a special guest in their classroom - Mr. Kenny Brown, who came to share about his Native American culture. The Dialectic students shared Mark Twain short stories and the Rhetoric students performed scenes from "Last of the Mohicans" and "Moby Dick". A play written by SAA students, "Son of Adam", was performed for the first time in front of an audience at the Lit Festival. There was a frog jumping contest, watermelon seed spitting contest, and bowling with Rip Van Winkle. The food from Caddie Woodlawn's Kitchen was wonderful! Thank you to all the parents and friends who helped with decorating, cooking, costumes, sound, etc. We couldn't have done it without you!
