AN EVENING WITH MART GREEN

ACA’s annual fall banquet is on Friday, November 6th, at 6:30 p.m. at the Renaissance Hotel. Our special speaker for the evening will be Mr. Mart Green, chairman of the Board of Trustees at Oral Roberts University and the owner of the Mardel and Hobby Lobby chains. He was the founder of Bearing Fruit Communications, which produced the movie “Beyond the Gates of Splendor”, and he was also the founder of “Every Tribe Entertainment” which produced the movie “The End of the Spear”. Entertainment during the evening will be provided by ACA students. Mark the date on your calendar now! Tickets are NOW on sale in the school office and “HERE”. Tickets cost $25 per person, or a reserved table for eight for $200.

DROP OFF AND PICK UP PROCEDURE

Parents, it has come to our attention that many of you seem to have forgotten our student drop off and pick up procedures. Please DO NOT STOP IN THE DRIVEWAY to drop off or pick up your students. This blocks the driveway and causes traffic to back up onto 30th Street. Please pull into a parking space or drive around to the back of the building. ALSO we now have three pick up lanes to use in the afternoon to help speed up the pick up process. Make sure you are in a lane and not straddling two lanes – the parking lot attendants will help you with this.

GRAIL BALL TOURNAMENT GAMES

Grail Ball is the official House game invented here at ACA and played expertly by students in grades 6-12. This Friday, October 30th marks the end of the fall Grail Ball season and the final championship games played in all four categories, junior high girls, junior high boys, high school girls, and high school boys. These games will be played at the Grail Ball field on the south end of our property beginning at 9:30 a.m. on Friday. Parents, relatives and friends are invited to come watch this fast and exciting game! House trophies and individual medals for all-star players will be awarded at that time as well. The class schedule will be adjusted to allow time for the games. SEE THE CLASS SCHEDULE

FINAL FRIDAY SPIRIT WEAR DAY

This Friday, October 30th, is Final Friday Spirit Wear Day for the whole school. No coupon is necessary!

SLAVE LABOR

Do you need some extra hands to get a project done? Need help cleaning out your garage or attic, or maybe raking leaves? The ACA juniors and seniors are willing to be your “slave” to help raise money for their spring trip to the Eastern Seaboard. If you are interested in securing one or even up to ten slaves, please contact Rhonda Morgan at morganfamily@sbcglobal.net or 492-5519. We have juniors and seniors that are willing to work for you!

PLAN TEST AND EXPLORE TEST

We had to reschedule the PLAN test for our 10th graders to Tuesday, November 10th. The EXPLORE test for all 8th graders and 9th graders new to ACA has been rescheduled to Tuesday, November 17th. Both tests will begin promptly at 8:00 a.m. and there is no cost to ACA students for these tests. We use these test results for students who need the reading certificate for their drivers permit.

NOVEMBER LUNCH ORDERS

Lunch order forms for the month of November are now available in the school office or “HERE”. If you are ordering for the month, please turn in your order form and payment by Friday, October 30th.

PORTRAIT RETAKE DAY

Just in case you missed it the first time… Yearbook Portrait Re-take Day is Thursday, November 12th, beginning at 10:00 a.m. More information will be sent home with students.

PARTNERS IN PRAYER

Augustine Christian Academy needs to be under girded in prayer. There are a group of us who meet to pray for our teachers and staff, our students, our families, the finances, and the activities of this school. We know that many of you (hopefully all of you) pray at home for Augustine, but we would like to invite those who can, to join with us in corporate prayer. The prayer team meets in the lunch room area, on Thursdays from 12:45 - 1:30 prompt. If you need more information, call Lorraine Roderick at 760-7609. Feel free to come when you can!
