SINGING VALENTINES & VALENTINE STORE

Valentine’s Day is in just a few days and the ACA Valentine Singers have been practicing their songs. If you would like to surprise your special someone with a Singing Valentine, please turn in your order form and payment to the school office ASAP. Order forms are available HERE or in the office. Orders and payment must be made in the office before delivery. The Valentine Store will be open Thursday before and after school, and Friday before school! Shop for your valentine at our store. There are chocolates, balloons, plush toys, and more for students and parents to choose. Gifts will be delivered to students on Friday afternoon. The Singing Valentines and the Valentine Store are fundraisers for the April performances of “Seven Brides for Seven Brothers.”

PARENTS OF SENIORS MEETING

Graduation will be here before we know it and there are several things our Seniors and their parents need to know in order to plan for this great event. There will be a meeting for all parents of ACA seniors on Sunday, February 21st, at 4:00 p.m. in the ACA auditorium. If your student is a senior this year, PLEASE make every effort to attend.

PROGRESS REPORTS

Progress reports were handed out to secondary students today. Parents, please ask to see your student’s report. The 3rd Quarter ends on March 5th.

COFFEE HOUSE

Beginning Friday, February 19th, the Entrepreneurial Studies class will be operating a Coffee House in our Performing Arts building on Wednesdays and Fridays after school, 3:30 – 5:00. Assorted coffees, teas, and hot chocolates will be available for purchase. The coffee house will be open to grades 9 – 12 only and any parents who would like a hot beverage. Prices will be very reasonable. On Wednesdays the coffee house will maintain a quiet “study” atmosphere and on Fridays it will have a more “fun” atmosphere. Questions? INVISIBLE CHILDREN

On Wednesday, February 24th, we will be hosting a group from Invisible Children of Uganda who will be presenting a program for our secondary students. “NUTCRACKER” DVD’S

YES, we have dvd’s of “The Nutcracker”! The dvd’s cost $20 and are now available in the office. To get your copy (or copies), stop in the school office this week. Please make checks payable to Kenneth Jones. Also, we have a limited supply of “Beauty & the Beast” dvd’s left from last spring and you can get one of those for only $10!

DATES FOR “SEVEN BRIDES FOR SEVEN BROTHERS”

PLEASE NOTE: The dates of our spring musical are different than was previously published on the school calendar. “Seven Brides for Seven Brothers” will be performed April 16, 17, & 18 and April 23, 24, & 25.

CALCULATORS NEEDED

Our Algebra I class is starting instruction in the use of the TI83 or TI84 calculators. We could use some “classroom calculators” to use for back-up. If you have one of these, or know of someone who has one, and you would like to donate it to ACA (or sell it at a low price), please bring it by the office or contact Mrs. Matthews at 918-521-2283 or email her at matthewsc@acatulsa.org.

WINTER WEATHER SCHOOL CLOSINGS

There is a Winter Storm Warning for the Tulsa area this week. Please remember to watch for Augustine Christian Academy to be announced as closed, but keep in mind that if Tulsa Public Schools are closed for winter weather, ACA will be closed as well. We are returning to this policy to reduce confusion. ACA will be listed on Channels 2, 6, 8, & 23 and announced on AM radio 740 KRMG and 1170 KFAQ if we are closed.
