WINTER COURT

Winter Court will take place this Friday, January 25th. This is a formal banquet for grades 9 - 12 and alumni. Tickets for Winter Court are on sale now - buy yours before they are sold out! The cost is $32 per person. School will be dismissed at noon on Friday. There will not be lunch or after school care that day. The dress code for Winter Court is in the student handbook. Girls must have their Winter Court dress checked! There is an “After Winter Court Party” for the high school students, but this party is NOT a school sponsored event, and is held at another location. The students sponsoring the party have distributed flyers with the details. Also, a flyer about Winter Court photography was distributed to students today. Call the office if you have any questions.

VOICE OF DEMOCRACY

Each year the VFW sponsors an essay contest called “The Voice of Democracy.” The theme this year was “How We Honor Our Veterans.” Several of our students entered the contest this year and we want to congratulate Rachel Long for taking the First Place prize and Philip Spencer for winning the Third Place prize. Both students were honored at a banquet and presented with their cash awards. We are very proud of these students!

WINTER COURT WORK DAY

Volunteers needed!!! Winter Court is this Friday and there are still many things to do to get ready. There will be a work day this Thursday afternoon and evening, 2:00 - 8:00, students in grades 6 - 12 may stay and help finish decorating the auditorium. This will not be a “hang out” time - any students not working will be sent home. Many hands will make the work go faster, so plan to stay and help if you can!

THANK YOU

A BIG THANK YOU to the parents and students who provided food for our Pot Luck luncheon last Friday. It was great fun and the visiting Chinese students and our own students and staff really enjoyed it!

ILLNESSES

This is the season for coughs, colds, stomach viruses, etc. If students are sick, please do not send them to school until they are fever free for 24 hours. This will help us keep other students healthy and absences to a minimum. If students are taking medication for illnesses, coughs, etc. please bring the medication to the office instead of having the student keep it in their backpacks. Thank you for your cooperation in this matter.

WINTER WEATHER

When winter weather is in the forcast, please listen to KFAQ 1170 am, KRMG 740 am, and KJRH Channel 2 for school closings beginning at 6:00 a.m. Remember that if Tulsa Public Schools are closed, ACA will be closed as well.
