WINTER COURT 2012

CONGRATULATIONS TO CHRIS ASHER & RACHEL KNORR, the King and Queen of Winter Court 2012!  Congratulations also go to 9th grader Andrew Chorley for winning the Knight’s Challenge and to senior Matthew Woods for winning the Haiku contest!

MANY THANKS to all of the parent volunteers who did the hard work of setting up and cleaning up at the Jazz Hall of Fame, and the parents & friends who worked on Mrs. Miller’s crew.  SPECIAL THANK YOU to Mr. & Mrs. Hartung and to Mrs. Miller!  Without all of our volunteers this spectacular evening would not have been possible!

 

SINGING VALENTINES

Are you looking for something unique and extra special for the ones you love this Valentine’s Day? Let them be serenaded by a group of very talented singers from Augustine Christian Academy’s Show Choir. Prices range from $25 - $40. We’ll deliver a song, a personalized card, chocolates, and a special dedication to a location of your choice within the Tulsa area. Deliveries will be offered from 9:00 AM – 8:00 PM on February 14th.  Order early to get your preferred delivery time!  All orders must be received by February 13th!  Get your Singing Valentine order form by CLICKING HERE, or pick one up in the school office.  Please call Mrs. Gale Post at 918-852-2040 for more information.

 

CHOCOLATE ILLUMINATION

The Performing Arts Booster Club is selling World's Finest Chocolate bars!  The top  seller will have his or her choice of a $50 Quik Trip or Incredible Pizza gift card. The second highest seller may choose a $25 Quik Trip or Incredible Pizza gift card.  All proceeds from this sale will go toward the lighting rental for our spring production of “Hello Dolly”. Our goal is to raise at least $2500!  Boxes of chocolate bars can be picked up in the office to sell, or you can purchase individual candy bars in the office.  Money must be turned in by February 15th.

 

OPEN HOUSE DATES

We have scheduled several Open House dates for prospective families during the next several weeks.  If you know of any families looking for a new school for their students, please share these dates with them:

“OUR UNIQUE LIGHT”

Tickets are on sale now for Augustine Christian Academy’s annual fundraiser banquet!  This year’s banquet will feature performances by several of our talented ACA students and the ACA Show Choir!  It will be held at the Tulsa Renaissance Hotel on Friday, February 24th, at 6:30 p.m.  Tickets are $25 per person or $175 for a table of eight.  Mark your calendar and invite your friends and family!  Stop by the school office to purchase your tickets or call 918-832-4600 for more information or to order tickets.

 

“HELLO DOLLY” WORK DAYS

Two work days have been scheduled for construction of the set for our spring musical “Hello Dolly”.  On Saturday, February 18 and Saturday, February 25, from 9:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. we need several men and young men to bring their tools and help us with this project.

 

STUDENT MUSICIANS

Congratulations to 9th graders Joseph Bates and Anthony Conroy!  These fine musicians were selected to be 2 of 6 individuals to play at the Tulsa PAC to open this Saturday's Tulsa Symphony Orchestra concert. Each one, Joe on the violin and Anthony on the cello, will perform a solo piece at the pre-concert reception.  We are very proud of these students!

 

SECOND SEMESTER PORTRAITS

Friday, February 17th, will be Portrait Day for all grades.  This time students do not have to wear their uniform for their portrait, but must bring their uniform with them to change into after their picture is taken.  Portrait packages will be printed for each student for parents to see before purchasing.  Questions?  Contact Mrs. Brewer at: brewerd@acatulsa.org

WINTER COURT

Winter Court, will be held this Friday, January 27th at the Jazz Hall of Fame in Tulsa.  Maps are available in the school office and at http://www.okjazz.org/index.cfm?id=51

PARENTS: please remember that this is a student event, NOT a parent event.  A professional photographer will be at Winter Court to take portraits of students, but portraits must be pre-paid.  Please CLICK HERE for the portrait order form. 

 

SCHEDULE FOR JANUARY 27

School will be dismissed for all grades at noon on January 27th and there will be no lunch served and no after school care.  Please make arrangements to have your students picked up promptly.  NOTE: All Friday classes will meet.  Please CLICK HERE for the secondary class schedule.  Questions?  Call the school office.

 

FINAL FRIDAY SPIRIT WEAR

This Friday is the final Friday of January and is a Spirit Wear Day for everyone.  No coupon is necessary!

 

FEBRUARY LUNCH ORDER FORMS

If you are ordering for the month of February, please turn in your order form and payment by Friday, January 27th.  NOTE:  January 30 & 31 are on the February lunch order.  You can pick up an order form in the office or get one by CLICKING HERE.

“PINKALICIOUS” DVD’S & PHOTOS

If you ordered the “Pinkalicious” DVD or the photos, THOSE ARE NOW AVAILABLE IN THE SCHOOL OFFICE.  The DVD’s are $25 and if you pay by check, please make your check out to Kenneth Jones.  Photos are priced according to what was ordered.

 

WINTER WEATHER

Although it hasn’t seemed like it yet, it is officially winter and it’s that time of year when snow and ice could hit the Tulsa area.  We announce our school closing information on the local TV and radio stations, but keep in mind that if Tulsa Public Schools are closed for bad weather, Augustine Christian Academy will be closed as well.
