GRANDPARENTS DAY

The ACA Grammar School will be celebrating Grandparents Day on Wednesday, November 26th, with refreshments beginning at 9:30 a.m. and a program beginning at 10:30 a.m. Grammar school students have been inviting their grandparents, but aunts, uncles, parents, and “grandfriends” are also welcome to attend! Secondary students will have class on a revised schedule. School will be dismissed at noon that day for the Thanksgiving holiday. There will be no lunch served and there will be no after school care on that day. Please make arrangements to have your students picked up by 12:15 p.m.

CHRISTMAS AT LAKEWOOD CARE CENTER

The residents of Lakewood Care Center, our “adopted” care center, need to be remembered at Christmas time, so “Adopt A Stocking” has begun. Christmas stockings have been distributed to the Grammar teachers and House sponsors. All students have an opportunity, with their parent’s permission, to take a stocking and fill it with gifts for a Lakewood resident. A list of suggestions is inside each stocking. All stockings must be returned to the teacher or House leader by Monday, December 8th. On Thursday, December 11th, our Grammar students will be presenting a program for the Lakewood residents at the care center at 10:00 a.m. Parents are welcome to attend. That same day at 2:00 p.m. the regular visits by secondary students will take place and the stockings will be distributed. The residents really look forward to the visits from our students and this one will be very special.

TULSA FESTIVAL RINGERS

ACA’s own Mrs. Karen Swenson is a bell ringer with the Tulsa Festival Ringers and they will be holding a concert in our auditorium on Monday, December 1st, at 7:00 p.m. ACA families are invited to attend and ring in the holiday season with this outstanding group.

ALL SCHOOL CHRISTMAS PROGRAM

Plan to join us on Friday, December 5th, for our Festive Christmas Celebration, an all-school Christmas program. It will be held at Will Rogers United Methodist Church (11th and Yale) and will begin at 7:00 p.m. The evening will feature songs, skits, poems, and performances by our talented students and even a few of our talented parents. You won’t want to miss this exciting event, which will also include candlelight, refreshments, and worship of our King. A special offering will be taken to bless the teachers and staff of ACA. This is a wonderful way to share the love you have for those who serve sacrificially at ACA.

FIVE WEEK REPORTS THIS FRIDAY

Five week progress reports will be sent home with students this Friday, November 21st. Parents: be sure to ask to see your student's progress report.

HOMEMADE CHRISTMAS COOKIES NEEDED

Several volunteers are needed to provide Christmas cookies or bar cookies for our Festive Christmas Celebration on Friday, December 5th. If you could provide a couple of dozen cookies for this event, please sign up in the office, or with your Grammar student’s teacher. Cookies can be delivered to the school office that Thursday or Friday morning.

ISRAEL TRIP DEPOSIT DUE

Those planning to go on the ACA sponsored trip in Israel in March, 2009, need to turn in their reservation form and deposit by December 3rd. If you have any questions, please contact Dr. or Mrs. Ehrlich at 622-9573. The next teaching meeting will be on Sunday, December 7th.

DECEMBER LUNCH ORDERS

The lunch order form for the month of December is now available in the school office or here. Those ordering for the month should return their order forms and payment to the office by Wednesday, November 26th.

WINTER WEATHER

Yes, it is almost that time of year again. When winter weather strikes the Tulsa area, please listen to KFAQ 1170 or KRMG 740 on the radio, or watch the local TV channels for school closing announcements. If Tulsa Public Schools are closed for weather, ACA will also be closed that day. Please do not call the teachers or administration on snowy mornings to ask if ACA is having school.

DONUTS & COFFEE ON FRIDAYS

On Fridays you can have your breakfast at ACA! The yearbook staff will be offering donuts and coffee for sale on Friday mornings from 7:15 – 7:55. Coffee is $1 and donuts are $.50 or $.75.

RAISE FUNDS FOR ACA WHILE YOU SHOP ONLINE

When shopping online, you can earn money for ACA by STARTING your shopping at Box Tops for Education Marketplace. Our school will receive a donation of up to 8% back on every qualifying purchase, up to $20,000 per year, at no additional cost to anyone. For more information, see the article on the ACA web site.
