CONGRATULATIONS

Two ACA kindergarteners recently received recognition for their artwork!  Qwendy Davis won first prize in the Tulsa County Bar Association’s “Law Day 2012 Art Contest” and Emma Farnam received an Honorable Mention.  Congratulations girls!

 

2012-2013 SECONDARY CLASS SCHEDULE

The secondary class schedule is available HERE and in the school office.  Students should turn in their class requests to the office as soon as possible.  Students needing to meet with Mr. Post about their classes should schedule their meetings quickly. 

 

GRADUATIONS

Dialectic Graduation (8th grade) – Thursday, May 17, 7:00 p.m. in the ACA Great Room.  Students attending must wear High Convocation uniforms.

Rhetoric Graduation (12th grade) – Friday, May 18, 7:00 p.m. at Green Country Event Center, 31st Street between Garnet & 129thStudents attending must wear High Convocation uniforms.

 

HELLO DOLLY DVD’S

If you ordered a “Hello Dolly!” dvd, those should be available in the school office for pick up the week of May 21st.  If you didn’t order one, it’s not too late!  The cost is $25 and you can order in the school office.

 

LOST & FOUND AND LOCKERS

If your student is missing clothing, shoes, lunch box, dishes, water bottle, etc. you should stop by the school and check the Lost & Found!  Also, students who did not clean out their locker should come by the school this week or next and get that done!  Thanks!

 

ENROLLMENT & FINANCIAL AID

If you have not yet enrolled your student for next year, you should do so as soon as possible.  You can get an enrollment form HERE or in the school office.  Also, if you need to apply for financial assistance for next year, please get your application sent to FACTS as quickly as possible.  You can pick up a financial aid application in the school office or go to: factstuitionaid.com

 

REME TEST DATES

Students at ACA have the option of taking the Rhetoric Grammar class during their high school years, or passing the Rhetoric English Mastery Exam with an 80% or better.  It costs $50 to take the REME and it is offered a couple of times each year.  The test will be offered this summer on June 18th at 9:00 a.m. and on July 23rd at 9:00 a.m.  A study guide and textbook for review are available in the school office.  To sign up your student for the test, or for more information, call the school at 918-832-4600.

 

SUMMER HISTORY CLASSES

Renaissance & Reformation and Oklahoma History & American Government will be offered this summer in July.  OK History & American Government is open to students going into 9th – 12th grades and Renaissance & Reformation will be open to students going into 10th – 12 grades.  Both will be worth 1 credit of history.  Get more information or sign up for the classes in the school office.

 

SUMMER OFFICE HOURS

Today was the last day of classes!  Summer is beginning, and for ACA that means we switch to our summer office hours.  The ACA office will be open from 9:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. Monday – Friday during the summer, beginning Thursday, May 17th.  The office will be closed on Memorial Day and Independence Day.  HAVE A GREAT SUMMER!

C & J School Uniforms, ACA’s preferred uniform provider, is having a sale the entire month of June!  10% off monogrammed items and 20% off all other in-stock items.  Attention parents of seniors: C & J is accepting consignment uniform items through June 30th.

DIPLOMA OPTIONS & COMMITTMENTS

If your student will be a sophomore, junior or senior in the 2012-2013 school year, and you have not turned in a “Diploma Track Commitment Form” signed by you AND your student, please stop by the office to pick up the form and turn it in by Friday, May 11th. There are four diploma choices at ACA and you can get the diploma chart by CLICKING HERE.

Augustine Christian Academy’s Performing Arts Booster Club will be hosting a huge sale of educational supplies tomorrow, May 10, from 2:00-5:00 p.m. in the ACA Great Room. The prices will be deeply discounted (70%-80% off teachers' supply store prices) and a portion of the proceeds will go to the Booster Club to help purchase supplies for the Performing Arts Department.  Examples of items for sale are: Mary Engelbreit organizers, record keeping supplies, bulletin board decorations, school supplies, and certificates. There will also be math, science, and phonics educational books for children, organizational supplies, lesson planners, and much more.  Churches, homeschoolers, and co-ops are welcome.  For more information call Laurie at (918) 770-5125.  

 

SECOND SEMESTER FINAL EXAMS

Final exams for second semester will be May 14, 15, & 16.  Please CLICK HERE for the complete finals schedule.  School will be dismissed at 2:00 on May 14 & 15 and at noon on May 16.  There will not be afterschool care or lunch available on Wednesday, May 16th.

LITTLE THEATRE

ONE LAST LITTLE THEATRE OF THE SCHOOL YEAR  On Friday, May 4th, 7:00 p.m.  the Performing Arts department will present “Every Heart Has A Song”.  This will be a SPRING CONCERT featuring our K4-5th grades and the Show Choir.  Cost: Adults $2, Students/Children $1.  Make plans to attend and invite family & friends.  Doors will open at 6:30 p.m.

CONGRATULATIONS

Congratulations to Ellarie Burney, the Valedictorian of the Class of 2012, and to Stephen Good, the Salutatorian of the Class of 2012!  Ellarie has received an Honors Scholarship Award from the University of Oklahoma where she plans to study Biochemistry.  Stephen will attend Oklahoma City University this fall and plans to major in Psychology and a minor in Violin Performance.  We are very proud of these two outstanding students!

 

JUNIOR HIGH SPRING TRIP

Students going on the trip to Texas this weekend must be at the school at 7:00 a.m. on Friday morning.  Students not going on the trip do not have to report to school on Friday.  All 6th, 7th, & 8th graders have Monday, May 7th off from school.

Is your high school student interested in singing in the ACA Show Choir?  An audition workshop will be held this Saturday, May 5th, at 10:00 a.m. and again on Tuesday, May 8th, at 3:15 p.m.  The auditions for the 2012-2013 Show Choir will be held on May 10th beginning at 3:30 p.m.  Students going into 9th – 12th grades may audition.  For more information, CLICK HERE.
