The Nutcracker
Augustine Christian Academy’s Junior Performing Arts Company presented “The Nutcracker” the first weekend in December. This was the first production director Mrs. Gale Post attempted with the Junior Company, grades 2 through 8, and it was a huge success. With help from assistant director Mrs. Dawn Redden and several high school student interns, Mrs. Post had the cast of nearly 50 students learn the choreography necessary to perform the classic tale of The Nutcracker. Over 500 costumes were created for this production by Mrs. Linda Geppelt and her crew of volunteer parents and friends. The students, many of whom had never been on stage before, performed over and above all expectations and thrilled to standing ovations at the end of each performance. Shown below are pictures taken at the final dress rehearsal and backstage before and after the final performance.
