Mrs. Oard's 6th grade Earth Science class has been studying volcanoes. As a part of their study, each student constructed their own model of a volcano. Some students used the combination of Diet Coke and Mentos as their exploding molten lava, while others used the mixture of baking soda and vinegar. Students chose to make their volcano structures out of poster board, plaster, duct tape and several other materials. The explosions took place on the playground on Wednesday, September 27th, 2006.
