PRACTICE ACT TEST

ACA students in grades 10 – 12 are invited to take a practice ACT on Saturday, December 10 at 9:00 a.m. at ACA.  Huntington Learning Center will be giving the practice ACT, and will mail the scores to parents along with a letter evaluating their student’s results.  There is no charge for this, but students must sign up in the ACA office by December 5th so Huntington will know how many students to expect.  Call the school office if you have any questions.

GRANDPARENTS DAY

Our annual Grammar School Grandparents Day will be held on Wednesday, November 23.  The event will begin with refreshments at 9:30 a.m., followed by a program presented by our Grammar School students at 10:00 a.m.  Grandparents, “Grandfriends”, aunts, uncles, and parents are all welcome to attend.  Visits in the K4 – 5th grade classrooms will complete the morning.  School will be dismissed at noon that day for all ACA students.  There will not be any lunch served that day and After School Care will not be available.  Parents, please make plans now to have your student’s picked up at noon on November 23.  Part-time students can pick up the class schedule for Nov. 23 in the school office and it is also available HERE.

Parents: Grammar School students will not be required to wear their High Convocation uniforms on Monday, November 21, because they WILL be required to wear them for the Grandparent’s Day program on Wednesday, November 23.  Note that this only applies to students in grades K4 through 5th.  All other students will wear their High Convocation uniforms on Monday.

LUNCH ORDERS

The November monthly lunch order only went through Thanksgiving, so the last three days of November will be on the new December lunch order form which is now available in the school office and by clicking HERE.  If you are ordering lunches for the month of December, please return your order and payment to the office by November 23rd.

PABC SHIRTS

The Performing Arts Booster Club shirts are here!  If you joined the PABC this fall, please stop by the school office to pick up your shirt.  The shirts are white, so we would prefer not to send them home in your student’s backpack!

ALL SCHOOL CHRISTMAS CELEBRATION

Please save the evening of Friday, December 2nd.  That’s the date of our annual Christmas Celebration with all of our students, families, teachers, and staff.  This event will again be held at Will Rogers United Methodist Church at 11th and Yale in Tulsa and will begin at 7:00 p.m.  You will not want to miss this evening filled with carols, fellowship, fun, and cookies!  Our teacher & staff appreciation offering will once again be taken that evening.  We have 32 dedicated staff members at ACA and Christmas bonuses are just not in the budget.  Last year’s offering was a great blessing to our teachers and such a joy to share with them at Christmas time.

FOOD DRIVE EXENDED UNTIL THURSDAY

ACA is supporting Greenwood Christian Center in their Thanksgiving food distribution to needy families in the neighborhood of their church.  We are collecting the following items for the food baskets:

Boxes of instant potatoes

Canned green beans

Canned corn

Canned sweet potatoes

Canned cranberry sauce

Canned gravy

Stuffing mix

Mac and cheese

Cake mix

Frosting

And any other items to help a family have a delicious Thanksgiving meal.  Food items should be taken to your student’s classroom or their House sponsor’s classroom.

And what Thanksgiving meal would be complete without a turkey? Each house and elementary class will have a designated “turkey fund” with which students will bring in either cash or checks payable to ACA.  All money for turkeys must be given to Miss Becki in the office.

Donations of food or money for turkeys must be turned in by 4:00 p.m. this  Thursday, November 17th.  Thank you so much for your generous heart and willingness to help!
