“IT’S A WONDERFUL LIFE - the Musical”

Tickets to “It’s A Wonderful Life – the musical” go on sale to the public THIS FRIDAY, November 8. Based on the beloved 1946 film, this musical faithfully follows George Bailey’s life from his childhood dreams to his midlife disappointments and beyond, as we all take a journey to discover whether his life has mattered at all. Beautifully scored and theatrically staged, this adaptation breathes musical life into a familiar story, while retaining the warmth and humor of the original. A new holiday classic for devotees and newcomers alike. Dates of production are December 5th - 8th. Tickets are $10 for Adults and $7 for children/students. Invite your friends and family to see a quality, family musical. Don’t wait too long to get tickets… they will sell out!

“UNITED WE STAND”

This Friday, November 8th, at 7:00 p.m. in the Great Room, our Grammar School students will be performing “United We Stand”, a patriotic musical honoring our founding fathers and our American veterans. Our young students have been working hard and you won’t want to miss it. Make plans to attend! Aunts, uncles, grandparents, and friends are welcome to attend with you!

TEACHER FOLLIES

YOU DO NOT WANT TO MISS THIS! Be sure to mark your calendars for Friday, November 22nd! On that date, the teachers and staff will express our thanks to the students and families of ACA in the form of a “Teacher Follies” at Woodlake Assembly of God church. This will be a wonderful evening of fun and frivolity showcasing the talents of our teachers and staff through songs, drama, & displays of their handiwork. We will also include a time of praise and worship during which the offering for the teachers’ Christmas bonus will be received. The Board of Governors will be offering a Matching Challenge to our parents and are asking for your full support. We will close the evening with a time of fellowship together in the banquet hall where some of our more artistic teachers will display their work. Cookies and punch will be provided. Our goal is to honor your generosity by providing you with the performance of a lifetime! Be sure to set aside the evening for a wonderful time of fun and fellowship (and cookies!) for all ages!

Payment for items ordered from Black & Pink is due NOW. If you have forgotten what your student owes, please call Mrs. Wilsterman or Mrs. Post. Also, CAST FEES are due NOW. Questions? Call Mrs. Post or you can check with Becki Davis in the office on the status of any payments made.

Mrs. Post is looking for furniture pieces (lamps, end tables, chairs, couch (not heavy)) that would fit into the late 1920’s to mid 1940’s for the set of “It’s a Wonderful Life”. Should you have such pieces or are interested in helping her stage some of these scenes that contain these pieces, please text or call her at 918-852-2040.

ADOPT A SET PROJECT

Mr. Post has several projects for the set of the musical and we need someone to “adopt” them! There are small, medium, and large projects. If you would like to adopt a project, please contact Mr. Post by email for the list of projects and to volunteer: [email protected] .

EAST COAST TRIP FUNDRAISER

ACA Juniors and Seniors going on the spring trip to the Eastern Seaboard are raising money with “Fun Pasta Fundraising”. They are excited to sell Fun Pasta because there is a large selection of products in fun shapes for everyone, and “online sales” earn even more profit for our group! But we need your help getting the word out…

ATTENTION GRAMMAR SCHOOL PARENTS

PLEASE have your grammar school student bring a coat or jacket to school each day. Many students are not wearing jackets to school yet, because they are running quickly from their car to the school door and don’t feel like they need one… but when the students go out for recess later in the day for 20 to 30 minutes – they are COLD. Thanks so much for your help with this!

EXPLORE TEST

Next Wednesday, November 13th, all 8th graders and 9th graders new to ACA will be taking the EXPLORE Test. The test begins promptly at 8:00 a.m. and is approximately 3 hours long. Part-time 8th graders and part-time new 9th graders who are not normally at school on Wednesday mornings should plan to be here for the EXPLORE Test. This is the test we use to determine “8th grade reading level” when our students are ready to get their driver’s permit. Watch for more information to come home with your students. Questions? PHILBROOK SECOND SATURDAYS

Enjoy free museum admission and family friendly, hands-on art projects on the second Saturday of each month. Bring out the inner artist in each member of the family and experience the Philbrook Museum in a whole new way! Visit the museum on the second Saturday of each month, 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., for free art activities, tours, and scavenger hunts for kids of all ages. (Philbrook Downtown is also free on the second Saturday of the month.)
