VALEDICTORIAN & SALUTATORIAN

Congratulations to the Valedictorian of the ACA Class of 2014 – Kyle Turner. For the first time ACA has two Salutatorians. Congratulations to our Salutatorians for the Class of 2014 – Meredith Lockhart and Amy Schatzmann. All three of these outstanding students will be speaking at their graduation ceremony on Friday, May 16th.

IOWA TEST OF BASIC SKILLS

Students in grades K5 – 5th will be taking the Iowa Tests each morning next week, April 21 – 24. Our 6th graders will be taking their Iowa Tests on Tuesday & Thursday mornings, April 22 & 24. Students should get plenty of sleep, eat a good breakfast, be on time to school, and bring a nutritious snack each day!

REME TESTING

ACA high school students must take the Rhetoric Grammar class or successfully pass the Rhetoric English Mastery Exam (REME) before graduating from ACA. The REME is usually given twice in the spring and twice in the summer. The cost of the REME testing is $50.00 for three opportunities to pass the test. Students who pass the test with an 80% or better score are not required to take our high school Rhetoric Grammar class. The next date for the REME this spring is Wednesday, April 23 at 4:00 p.m. Students must sign up in advance to take the REME and they can do that by stopping by the office or by emailing: [email protected]

PABC APPRECIATION NIGHT

Our final Performing Arts Booster Club membership meeting for the year will be combined with our cast parent appreciation night. We are planning a lovely dessert buffet and anticipating some entertainment by our very own ACA students. Mark your calendars and plan to attend on Tuesday, April 29th at 7:00 p.m. in the Performing Arts Building.

PABC OFFICER NOMINATIONS

The Performing Arts Booster Club will be electing new officers for the 2014-2015 school year at their April 29th meeting. The current Vice-President, Tina Nettles, will become the President per the club by-laws, but there are other positions that will need to be filled. If you are interested in serving or if you know someone who should be considered, please contact Kathryn Lockhart at 918-812-2733.

JUNIOR HIGH TRIP

The Junior High trip to Nashville will be April 25 – 27th. There is limited seating available on the vans for this trip, and not every junior high student will be able to go. Turn in the permission slip & $200 payment as soon as possible! Students in 6th – 8th grade not going on the trip, will not need to report to school on April 25 & 28 (students going on the trip will also not have school on April 28). Please contact Mrs. Miller or the school office with questions.

SUMMER THEATRE AT ACA

Disney’s Jungle Book Kids – Grades 2-9
If you are planning your summer, don’t forget about our week of Summer Theatre, June 9 - 13. This year’s production, Disney’s Jungle Book is going to be another fabulous production you won’t want to miss. Our summer theatre is open to the community so invite all your friends and family! There are tons of parts for both elementary and junior high students. Students are eligible to participate if they are entering grades 2 - 9. Look for the Information Package attached below or pick one up in the school office. For more information or questions, call Mrs. Gale Post at 918-852-2040.

GRADUATIONS

At Augustine Christian Academy we celebrate several commencement ceremonies to mark milestones in the lives of our students. Here is the schedule of ceremonies for this year:

Kindergarten Graduation – Tuesday, May 13th, 10:00 a.m., ACA Great Room
Grammar School (5th Grade) Graduation – Tuesday, May 13th, 2:00 p.m., ACA Great Room
8th Grade Graduation – Thursday, May 15th, 7:00 p.m., ACA Great Room
Senior Graduation – Friday, May 16th, 7:00 p.m., Woodlake Assembly of God Church

More information about the graduation ceremonies will be coming soon.

FINAL EXAMS

Final Exams for our Secondary students will be given on May 14th & 15th from 8:00 a.m. until noon each day. As in December, students may come on either day to take their final exams. Watch for more information coming soon.

GOOD FRIDAY

There is no school this Friday, April 18th, because it is Good Friday. From our ACA family to your family – Have a Blessed Easter!
