FACULTY FOLLIES

Faculty Follies is THIS Friday, November 21st, at 7:00 p.m. at Woodlake Assembly Church (on 31st Street between Sheridan and Memorial). Come prepared to enjoy an evening of songs, skits, and wonderful fellowship with the ACA Family!  During the evening an offering will be taken and this will be your opportunity to bless the faculty and staff of ACA with their annual Christmas bonus. If you are unable to attend but still want to bless our teachers, please feel free to see Miss Becki in the school office with your financial support or visit our website and contribute through our “Invest in ACA” tab (located at the bottom of our web page).  We are looking forward to showing off the gifts and talents of our amazing staff and teachers followed by refreshments and fellowship!  You won’t want to miss it!



SALT & LIGHT CHAPEL

This coming Monday, November 24th, will be our next Salt & Light Chapel with special guest Keith Wheeler. Mr. Wheeler doesn’t just carry the light into the world, he actually carries a twelve foot wooden cross to the nations.  Students MUST wear their High Convocation uniforms and there will be a special schedule to allow Mr. Wheeler additional time in chapel.  You can find the adjusted schedule attached below.



LUNCH ORDERS

The December lunch order form is attached below.  If you are ordering for the month, please bring your order form and payment to the school office by November 25th.  Students may still order each morning in their classroom or at the office window. Please note: we are switching back to Cici’s Pizza.




REME TESTING

ACA high school students must either take the high school English Grammar class or pass the Rhetoric English Mastery Exam (REME) with a score of 80% or better.  The REME is offered several times each year, and the next opportunity for students to take it is on Tuesday, November 25th, at 3:15 p.m.  The cost is $50 for three opportunities to pass the REME and it will be offered again in the spring semester and during the summer.  You can sign up your student to take the REME by calling the school office or by emailing: [email protected]



CHRISTMAS MUSICAL

Our Grammar School students will present their Christmas program, on Friday, December 5th, at 7:00 p.m. at SpiritLife Church (5345 S. Peoria Ave. in Tulsa).  All of our ACA parents and secondary students are invited to attend.  Let’s come out and support our young students who have been working so hard on their program!



“OKLAHOMA!”

Congratulations to the cast, crew, and directors of “Oklahoma!” for five fantastic performances last weekend!  A BIG THANK YOU to all of the parent volunteers who worked each performance!  The photo CD’s from the play are now available in the school office for only $20 each.  Check out a sampling of the photos on the display board in the school lobby.  We also still have bottles of Smoklahoma BBQ sauce available for only $6 per bottle.

Dear “Oklahoma!” Cast and Parents:

I can’t tell you how we appreciated the beautiful bouquets given to us at the close of “Oklahoma”. Thank you for thinking of us. Thank you to the  cast members of “Oklahoma” who wrote Mrs. Redden and I notes. We loved receiving these notes of appreciation and love from you. We will always remember our cast from “Oklahoma”… you are truly “unforgettable”.  

And we want to especially thank the teachers of our cast members for easing up on the homework the past week and to the grammar school teachers for sharing your rooms with us. We worked hard to keep the rooms clean and put back the way we found them.

PABC RAFFLE

The Performing Arts Booster Club raffle for the Commemorative plate from the Rodgers and Hammerstein “Oklahoma!” movie is ongoing, and tickets are still available, for a limited time!  The plate comes in its original packaging, with its certificate of authenticity as well as a wooden frame for display (not pictured).  This would make a terrific souvenir or Christmas gift for any cast member or cast parent.

Included in the drawing will be a signed cast photo of ACA’s 2014 production of “Oklahoma!” and two tickets to the spring junior production of Disney’s “Peter Pan” at ACA this April.

Raffle tickets are available in the school office for only $1 per ticket. The drawing will take place on Monday, December 1st, and all tickets purchased until and including that date will be included.  Support the performing arts program at ACA and get your tickets today!




SCHOLASTIC BOOK FAIR

A holiday book fair is coming soon!  You can start your Christmas shopping with us!  The book fair will be set up in the lobby December 1 - 5.  Flyers have been sent home with the Grammar School students with more information.  We do need a lot of volunteers to help during that week, so if you could volunteer for a couple of hours we would love to have you!  Please see the Volunteer form attached below or call Dawn Murphy-Williams at 314-952-3320.



NEEDED!

The Grammar School is collecting picture frames for an art display.  If you have any frames you are willing to part with (glass not needed), please bring them to the school office.  We need all shapes and sizes, but we are especially interested in odd sizes, oval, and unusual frames.  We do not need the back or the glass, just the frame.  We are going to paint them, so we’ll take any frame in any condition.  Thanks so much!




PETER PAN IS COMING!

ATTENTION ALL PARENTS OF STUDENTS IN GRADES 4 - 8:

The workshop for our spring Jr. High musical, Disney’s “Peter Pan”, is fast approaching.  ALL students grades 4 - 8 are encouraged to attend the complimentary workshop on January 10th in preparation of auditions.  The audition workshop will be 9:00 a.m. until noon with a parent meeting at noon.  Students do not need to have previous theatre experience to participate.  Keep watching the Charger Newsletter for more information to follow, but mark your calendar now.




OFFICE DEPOT’S 5% BACK TO SCHOOLS

Office Depot has a program which gives 5% of a person’s purchase to the school of their choice.  Merchandise certificates are sent to the selected school quarterly.  Today we received our merchandise certificate for this quarter in the amount of $21.02.  Many thanks to all of you who credited ACA with your purchase!
