GRAMMAR SCHOOL CHRISTMAS MUSICAL

Our Grammar School students will present their Christmas program, “The Messiah for Young Voices”, THIS Friday, December 5th, at 7:00 p.m. at SpiritLife Church (5345 S. Peoria Ave. in Tulsa).  Grammar school students in grades 1 - 4 must wear a white long sleeve shirt (oxford or polo style) and navy blue pants.  Girls may wear a navy skirt with navy leggings or tights instead of pants.  Students in grades K4, K5, and 5th grade will be in costumes.  All of our ACA families and our secondary students are invited to attend.

“THANK YOU!”

A BIG THANK YOU to everyone who came to our Faculty Follies night and to those who contributed to the offering for the faculty and staff Christmas bonuses.  We all truly appreciate our ACA families!

CONGRATULATIONS

The December issue of Community Spirit magazine highlights a teacher from each of the area Christian schools.  Mrs. Brina Osborne is the highlighted teacher from ACA!  Congratulations to Mrs. Osborne!  Pick up a Community Spirit magazine and check out the article about her.

SCHOLASTIC BOOK FAIR

You can start your Christmas shopping with us!  The Scholastic book fair is set up in the lobby this week through Friday.  Flyers have been sent home with the Grammar School students with more information.  Stop by on Thursday morning before school for hot chocolate while you browse the many books being offered.

ISRAEL TRIP MEETING

All those going on the ACA Israel Tour in March, 2015 should plan to attend a meeting this Sunday, December 7th at 3:00 in the ACA Great Room.  Family members are welcome to attend too!  There is still time to register for this trip - contact Becki in the school office for more information.

SUBSTITUTE TEACHERS

ACA is in need of a few more substitute teachers that we can call from time to time as we have need.  Interested parents should contact Mrs. Cathey in the school office for more information.

HOUSE COMPETITION

The four secondary Houses are having a competition to see which House can bring in the most gloves, mittens, hats, & scarves for the needy.  Donated items must be new or like new and must be turned in to the Houses by Monday, December 15th.  Adult and children’s sizes are needed!  Grammar school families are welcome to donate also and can drop off their donation in the school office.

NEEDED!

The Grammar School is collecting picture frames for an art display.  If you have any frames you are willing to part with (glass not needed), please bring them to the school office.  We need all shapes and sizes, but we are especially interested in odd sizes, oval, and unusual frames.  We do not need the back or the glass, just the frame.  We are going to paint them, so we’ll take any frame in any condition.  Thanks so much!

FINAL EXAMS

First semester final exams for secondary students will be given on Thursday and Friday, December 18 & 19.  Students may take their exams on that Thursday between 8:00 a.m. & 2:00 p.m. and on that Friday between 8:00 a.m. and noon.  Students should check with each of their teachers to see if they are required to take the exam for that class.  A student that has at least a B average in the class and has not missed more than 2 classes may choose not to take their final exam.  Lunch and after school care will be available on Thursday, Dec. 18; but on Friday, December 19th there will not be any lunch available and there will not be any after school care available.
