NEW COMMUNICATION TOOL

If ACA is closing for sickness or severe weather, or if there is an urgent message we need to share with our families, we will now be utilizing a new tool called SchoolWay. This is a free app that you will need to download to your iPhone or Android phone (from the App Store or Google Play); or you can download the web based version to receive messages via e-mail or text (you will need to enter your e-mail address or cell number to receive e-mail or text). The SchoolWay system will send you an alert of the message we need our families to receive. Please take a few moments to download the MySchoolWay app for your computer at http://myschoolway.com/acatulsa or from the App Store or Google Play for your smart phone.

We will also notify the three local TV stations if sickness or weather should cause us to close the school, but we feel SchoolWay will be a great partner, and it is a free system provided to us by our friends at Jostens.

You will find additional information below.  Please download SchoolWay at your earliest convenience.

Don’t miss out on this opportunity. You have till THIS Thursday, end of school day, to order your singing valentines. For $25 the Ladies Show Choir will deliver two songs, a personalized card, and chocolate to your valentine. We also have singing telephone grams for $10. ALL ORDERS must be made to the school office on or before close of day THURSDAY.

The order form is attached below and is also available in the school office.  For more information call Gale Post at 918-852-2040.

VALENTINE STORE OPEN

The Performing Arts Booster Club is operating a Valentine store this week in the school lobby.  The store will be open through lunch time on Friday.  A wide variety of items are available in all price ranges.  Students can buy items for each other, for their teachers, their siblings, or their parents.  Parents can have gifts delivered to their students or their students’ teachers.  Items will be delivered on Friday afternoon, February 13, to full time and MWF students, and on Thursday afternoon, Feb. 12, to students who only attend on Tues/Thurs.  Please come shop and support the arts at ACA!

RE-ENROLLMENT FOR 2015-2016

Enrollment contracts for 2015-2016 were mailed out last week to all current ACA families today.  A few of our Grammar School grades are at or near capacity this year, and we have already had new families expressing interest in enrolling their children for next year.  To save your child’s place in class, please return your enrollment contract to the school office as quickly as you can, because on March 2nd we begin accepting new students for the fall.  Also, please be sure to read the letter enclosed with the enrollment contract!

LITTLE THEATER

Our Performing Arts Dept. announces Little Theater on Friday, February 20th at 7:00 p.m.!  The first part of the evening will showcase our Intro to Theater class, Vocal Express, and the Ladies Show Choir.  The second part of the evening will feature our Advanced Acting class performing a hilarious and heart-warming one act play, “Over the River and Through the Woods” by Joe Dipietro.  No advance ticket sales… pay at the door only: $2 for adults and $1 for students.  Concessions will be available!  Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. and seating is limited.

EAST COAST TRIP 2016

There is an East Coast Trip informational meeting for parents of current 10th & 11th grade students on Friday, February 20th, at 6:00 p.m.  This trip will take place in March of 2016, but registration for the trip is open  and families must begin planning/thinking about it now!  Bring your questions!  Mr. Post promises that the meeting will be over before Little Theater begins!

TO PARENTS OF PETER PAN CAST

VSM: Just a reminder: At least ONE parent must be signed up in VSM. This is how Mrs. Post communicates to parents in the cast. Parents who have not signed up will be receiving instructions on how to sign up in VSM in the next few weeks. It only takes a few minutes to sign up. Just follow the directions listed on the sheet. Should you have any questions, please call Mrs. Post at 918-852-2040. REHEARSAL SHIRTS: We depleted our initial stock of rehearsal shirts so I placed a new order last week. They are due in any time. Once the shirts are in, you will be notified by VSM and your child can stop by the PAB and pick up their shirt.

AHOY PETER PAN MOMS AND DADS!

Our FIRST set building party for PETER PAN will be held on SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 21, from 9:30am – 2:30pm. WE need ALL hands on deck as there is much to be built. Bring any power tools or hammers you may have and we will see you on SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 21st.

ITEMS NEEDED

Our art teacher, Ms. Linda Thornhill, is needing a few items for some art projects she has planned.  If you have any styrofoam egg cartons, paper grocery bags, or 9 x 12 or larger picture frames that you could donate, please drop them off in the school office.  Thank you!

“OKLAHOMA!” DVD’S

The dvd’s of the fall performance of “Oklahoma!” should be ready any day now.  If you would like to order one or more of these dvd’s, please contact the school office.  We need to know how many dvd’s to produce!  They will cost $20 each.  Those who pre-order and pre-pay will receive their dvd’s first!

DROP OFF & PICK UP POLICY/PROCEDURE

PARENTS, PLEASE REMEMBER: There is no stopping or dropping off in the street in front of the school or at the walk-way to the front door! For your safety and the safety of our other families, please pull around to the South side of the building where we have three lanes for drop-off and pick-up. If you would like your student to enter through the front, please park before dropping them off. You can use our lot, the Akdar Shriners lot, or the church lot (Vision Family Ministry) next door and have your students walk to the front door. We will have a student worker posted to direct traffic in the mornings as a reminder. We open our doors at 7:15 a.m. If you arrive prior to 7:15, please remain with your student until the doors are unlocked. A 15-minute “Parent Parking Only” space will be provided in the coming days for your convenience. We truly appreciate your cooperation with this policy.

Have questions?  Please call ACA at 918-832-4600
