DISNEY’S “PETER PAN”

Tickets are now on sale for the ACA production of Disney’s “Peter Pan”.  Our Junior Performing Arts Company has been working hard during their practices and we know this will be a wonderful production!  Don’t wait until the last minute to get your tickets!

Performances are:

Thursday, April 9 at 7:00 p.m.

Friday, April 10 at 7:00 p.m.

Saturday, April 11 at 2:00 and 7:00 p.m.

Sunday, April 12 at 3:00 p.m.

Tickets are $10 for adults and $7 for students.  Doors will open 30 minutes prior to show time.  Concessions will be available at each performance.

CAST FEES: The remainder of cast fees are due now!  Fees must be paid to the school office THIS WEEK!

 

Peter Pan Tuesday/Thursday rehearsals will be extended until 6:00 p.m. starting this week. This was the decision made at the parent meeting last Saturday.

 

Saturday Rehearsals : March 14, March 28, April 4:  9:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.  Children should bring a SACK LUNCH (please refrain from microwaving… takes too long… and is messy).

 

Dress and Tech Rehearsals: Monday & Tuesday, April 6 & 7: Right after school to 8:30 p.m. The cast must bring a sack dinner and drink.

 

Parents, please try not to have your child miss anymore rehearsals, including and especially Saturday rehearsals. We have slipped a little behind due to the 3 snow days!  REMINDER: NO CONFLICTS (PRE-ARRANGED ABSENCES) IN APRIL please!

Cast bio forms are due this Saturday, March 14th.  Give them to Mrs. Post on Saturday, or email the information to Mrs. Culp at: [email protected]  You will find the Cast Bio Form attached below.   



TRIVIA NIGHT WAS POSTPONED!!

Trivia Night had to be postponed due to the weather on February 28th.  The new date is March 28th!  We don’t want you to miss out on this FUNdraising evening with us.  Tickets purchased previously are still good for the new date.  If you didn’t get your tickets before, it’s not too late to join us on March 28th!  Stop by the office and purchase a table of 10 for $100 or individual tickets for just $10 each!   

Besides the competition of the trivia games, there will be a few auction items and a few raffles in which to participate.  Just wait until you see the baskets the Houses and Grammar School classes put together for the auction… you might want to bid on all of them!

Sweet and Salty Desserts, Water, Tea and Punch will be served.

EXPLORE TEST

This Friday, March 13, our 8th graders, and 9th graders new to ACA, will be taking the EXPLORE test beginning at 8:00 a.m.  This is the test we use to prove 8th grade reading proficiency for the Oklahoma driver’s exam, so it’s important for our students to take this test.  The test lasts about three hours and students are excused from their 1st & 2nd hour classes for it.  



BAND BAKE SALE  

The 5th Grade Beginner Band will be hosting a bake sale at lunch time on March 24th.  Items will be priced from $.50 - $1.00.  Please support the Beginner Band as we prepare to go to our very first competition in Branson.  



ATTENTION PERFORMING ARTS BOOSTER CLUB PARENTS

For the purpose of awarding prizes for the highest sales, all chocolate bar money ($60 per box) is due by Friday, March 27th.  This gives your student all of Spring Break to finish selling their box of chocolate!  And it’s not too late to win!  If your family would like to sell another box or two, you can pick one up in the school office - we have 13 more boxes waiting for someone to sell them!  Tell all of your friends and family that they can support the Performing Arts at ACA for only $1.00 per chocolate bar!



SCHOLASTIC BOOK FAIR

The week following Spring Break, March 23 - 27, ACA will be sponsoring another Scholastic Book Fair.  Many volunteers are needed during the week to have a successful book fair!  Watch your grammar school student’s backpack for information on all of our fun Book Fair events. ALL FOR BOOKS PROGRAM

This week on Thursday & Friday, March 12 & 13, we are challenging the Grammar School classes to a competition to collect loose change for the Scholastic “All for Books” program.  The money collected will count toward ACA’s earnings during the Book Fair, but we will be using the money to purchase books that we will donate to a children’s charity.  The Grammar School class that collects the most change will win a popsicle party after our Book Fair is done.



JEAN ANDERSON MEMORIAL BIBLE TEST

Information on the Jean Anderson Memorial Bible Test was handed out to high school students last week.  Students must register by March 23 for this test. The student with the highest score receives a $100 prize, a new Bible, and their name on the plaque in the school lobby.



GRANDPARENTS DAY!

Grammar School Parents:  We need your help to make Grandparent’s Day a success this year.  If you can help us on Friday, March 27th, from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., please call the school office and leave your name and contact information for Dr. McGuire or email Dr. McGuire at: [email protected] to volunteer.



NEW COMMUNICATION TOOL

ACA is now utilizing a new tool called SchoolWay to reach our families with urgent news. This is a free app that you can download to your iPhone or Android phone (from the App Store or Google Play); or you can download the web based version to receive messages via e-mail or text. The SchoolWay system will send you an alert and the message we need our families to receive. Please take a few moments to download the SchoolWay app for your computer at http://myschoolway.com/acatulsa or from the App Store or Google Play for your smart phone.

We feel SchoolWay will be a great partner, and it is a free system provided to us by our friends at Jostens.  Please download SchoolWay at your earliest convenience.



ART ITEMS NEEDED

Our art teacher, Ms. Linda Thornhill, is needing toilet paper tubes or paper towel tubes, and oatmeal boxes with lids.  If you have any of these that you could donate, please drop them off in the school office.  Thank you!
