TRIVIA NIGHT IS THIS SATURDAY!

We are excited to be hosting our annual Spring Fundraiser THIS  Saturday, March 28th (postponed from February 28). This year we are having a Trivia Night. Many of our table sponsors have chosen a theme and will be decorating their tables (and themselves) accordingly. We will have a silent auction and a few live auction items (please see the attached list with pictures) will be peppered throughout the trivia rounds. It’s not too late to join us!  There are still seats available, so call Miss Becki at 918-832-4600 and join us for a fun and festive evening!

This is an after-dinner, sweet and salty event. Doors open for table decorations at 6:00 p.m. and guests can begin to arrive at 6:30 p.m.

DISNEY’S “PETER PAN”

Tickets are now on sale for the ACA production of Disney’s “Peter Pan”.  Our Junior Performing Arts Company has been working hard during their practices and we know this will be a wonderful production!  Performances are:

Thursday, April 9 at 7:00 p.m.

Friday, April 10 at 7:00 p.m.

Saturday, April 11 at 2:00 and 7:00 p.m.

Sunday, April 12 at 3:00 p.m.

Tickets are $10 for adults and $7 for students.  Doors will open 30 minutes prior to show time.  Concessions (hot dogs, popcorn, candy, pop) will be available at each performance.



FROM THE DIRECTOR OF “PETER PAN”

Saturday Rehearsals : March 14, March 28, April 4:  9:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.  Children should bring a SACK LUNCH (please refrain from microwaving… takes too long… and is messy).

 

Dress and Tech Rehearsals: Monday & Tuesday, April 6 & 7: Right after school to 8:30 p.m. The cast must bring a sack dinner and drink.

 

 

GRANDPARENTS DAY!

Grammar School Parents:  We need your help to make Grandparent’s Day a success this year.  If you can help us on Friday, March 27th, from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. (or a portion of that time), please call the school office and leave your name and contact information for Dr. McGuire or email Dr. McGuire at: [email protected] to volunteer.



FACTS PAYMENT FORMS

We now have the FACTS monthly payment forms for the 2015-2016 school year.  If you are planning to pay your tuition next year with the monthly payment option of FACTS automatic withdrawals, please stop by the school office and pick up the payment form.  Forms need to be returned to the office at least three weeks prior to the first payment.

 

CONGRATULATIONS!

ACA Junior Caroline Rowland was sponsored by OK Senator Dan Newberry to be a State Senate Page the week of February 23, 2015.  She was selected as the Outstanding Senate Page of week four of the First Session of the 55th Legislature because of her outstanding character and performance and that she “handled her responsibilities with exceptional professionalism and eagerness, and set an important example for the other Senate pages.”  Our CONGRATULATIONS to Caroline!  We are proud of you!

 

BAND BAKE SALE  

The 5th Grade Beginner Band will be hosting a bake sale on March 26th.  Items will be priced from $.50 - $1.00.  Please support the Beginner Band as we prepare to go to our very first competition in Branson.  



ATTENTION “OKLAHOMA” AND “PETER PAN” PARENTS AND CAST MEMBERS

For the purpose of awarding prizes for the highest sales, all chocolate bar money ($60 per box) is due by THIS FRIDAY, March 27th. And it’s not too late to win!  If your family would like to sell another box or two, you can pick one up in the school office - we have 8 more boxes waiting for someone to sell them!  Tell all of your friends and family that they can support the Performing Arts at ACA for only $1.00 per chocolate bar!



SALT & LIGHT CHAPEL

Join the ACA Secondary students on Monday morning, March 30th at 9:10 a.m. for our Salt & Light chapel service. We will be checking in with our very first Salt & Light speaker, Arvin Sepehr, who joined us in September of 2013 with his father, Mohammad. Arvin and his family are Iranian refugees who moved to America to flee religious persecution and multiple death threats. Arvin and his family are very active with the persecuted church. Arvin will be graduating from Oral Roberts University this May with a degree in Communications. He has a word for today’s youth and will be speaking on the struggles of living for Christ in a broken world.  Our class schedule will be slightly adjusted for the extended chapel time - please see that class schedule below.  Students must wear High Convocation uniforms on Monday!



SCHOLASTIC BOOK FAIR

We are having a Scholastic Book Fair this week in the school lobby.  If you haven’t stopped by yet to take a look at all of the wonderful books, you only have until Friday!  Stop in and check it out.  BUT IF YOU CAN’T STOP IN you can support our book fair by shopping online through April 4th - go to: https://bookfairs.scholastic.com/homepage/augustinechristianacademy1  Thanks so much for your support!



YEARBOOK AD INFORMATION

Parents of Seniors: Your student’s senior picture and baby/toddler pictures are due ASAP!  Also, now is the time to consider highlighting your senior in the 2014-15 yearbook. Senior yearbook dedications are a great way to express to your child how much you love them and value their graduation milestone.  Dedication requests will be accepted through Friday, April 10, on a first-come, first-served basis, as space is limited.  Rates vary from $40 for one-eighth page to $280 for a full page.  Please see the attached form below for the specifications and submission guidelines.

BUSINESS OWNERS: We are now accepting ads for the yearbook!  This is an excellent opportunity to promote your business to our ACA families and support the yearbook.  Ad sizes range from 1/8th page (business card) to a full page.  For prices and more information, please contact the school office or Karen Aspenson at [email protected]   Ad space is available on a first come, first-served basis.



APRIL LUNCH ORDER FORMS

Attached below you will find the monthly lunch order for April.  Please note that the order form covers the dates March 30 - April 24.  If you wish to order for the month, please return your order form and payment to the office by Friday, March 27th.  Students may also order their lunch each morning at the office window or in the classroom.



ART ITEMS NEEDED

Our art teacher, Ms. Linda Thornhill, is needing toilet paper tubes or paper towel tubes, and oatmeal boxes with lids.  If you have any of these that you could donate, please drop them off in the school office.  Thank you!
