SERVE-A-THON

Our annual Serve-A-Thon is THIS FRIDAY!  Regular school hours apply, lunch will be provided (pizza!), and all students may wear Spirit Wear!  Our four Houses will be going to four different places to serve: The Little Lighthouse, Tulsa Food Bank, Oasis Senior Adult Center, and Clarehouse.  

Our Grammar School students will stay on campus and they will hear about missions, have a visit from Blue Star Mothers (and make cards for soldiers!), make a craft with our friends from Home Depot, and fill shoe boxes for Operation Christmas Child.  We are still in need of items for the shoe boxes!  If you can donate any of the following items, please drop them off in the school office tomorrow or Friday morning: new plain t-shirts, flashlights with batteries, small dolls, Hot Wheels or Matchbox cars, jump ropes, small puzzles, whistles, small soft balls, cute socks, sunglasses, crayons, pens, pencils, small tablets or coloring books, toothbrushes, bar soap, soap cases, combs, toothbrushes, washcloths, etc.  We cannot use: liquids, lotions, breakables, or food items.  Thanks so much for your help with this!



FOOD, FELLOWSHIP & FUNding

This Thursday evening, October 1st, is Augustine Christian Academy night at the Panera Bread, 5601 E 41st Street, between the hours of 4:00 & 8:00 p.m.  Print off the Panera flyer attached below and join us for some delicious food and ACA fellowship.  Panera will donate a percentage of its sales during our event hours back to ACA and the percentage is based on how many flyers are turned in when ordering.  (Flyers cannot be handed out within 50 feet of the restaurant.)  Mark it on your calendar and meet us there for dinner!



“THE SOUND OF MUSIC” TICKETS

Tickets for our fall musical “The Sound of Music” will go on sale to cast parents on Monday, October 5th and to everyone else on Monday, October 12th.  Tickets will cost $10 for adults and $7.00 for students.  The performances of “The Sound of Music” will be as shown:

Thursday, November 12th at 7:00 p.m.

Friday, November 13th at 7:00 p.m.

Saturday, November 14th at 2:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.

Sunday, November 15th at 3:00 p.m.

Our productions do sell out, so please don’t wait until the last minute to get your tickets!  Get them early to assure you get tickets to the performance of your choice!



STATE FAIR FIELD TRIP

Information about the Fair Field Trip from Dr. McGuire:  “We are excited about our upcoming field trip to the Fair on October 6th.  If you indicated on your student’s permission slip that you would like to chaperone, you will be receiving information about this important opportunity soon.  If you have not completed a Volunteer Application and a Release for a Background Check, you will need to complete that by this Friday.  As a reminder, siblings of ACA students may not attend this school sponsored field trip with us.  We will have a chaperone meeting at 8:30 a.m on the morning of the field trip.  I look forward to seeing you there.”



TULSA STATE FAIR COUPONS

Discount coupons for the Tulsa State Fair will be available beginning tomorrow, October 1st.  Coupons will be sent home with Grammar School students, but secondary students should pick them up in the office.

 

 

“THE LION KING” DVD’S ARE HERE!

The long-awaited dvd’s of the ACA summer production of Disney’s “The Lion King” are here!  If you ordered a dvd, you can stop by the school office to pay and pick up your dvd.  The cost is $10 each and checks can be made payable to ACA.

The “Peter Pan” dvd’s are also still available in the office.  Those dvd’s cost $20 each.

 

 

PSAT TEST FOR JUNIORS

We are giving the PSAT/NMSQT to our 11th graders on Wednesday, October 14th.  Preparation booklets will be distributed to each 11th grader.  The PSAT is the qualifying test for the National Merit Scholarship Program.  Part-time students should plan to be here that morning to take the PSAT and all students must bring their own calculator for the math portion (phones are not allowed to be used).  Please contact the school office if you have any questions.
