AUGGIE AWARDS CEREMONY

You are invited to attend the SECOND Annual ACA Auggie Awards on Friday, May 6th, 7:00 pm, at St. James Methodist Church.  The Cast and Crew from both “Sound of Music” and “Seussical” attend free, but they must pick up their ticket from the school office. Tickets are on sale now in the office for $5 with a maximum of $20 per family. The evening presenters  all are ACA Theatre Alumni and our Master of Ceremonies this year is Kale Bloemker. There will be entertainment from Ladies Show Choir, Intro to Theatre Class, and Intro to Musical Theatre Class, and, of course, the announcement of next year’s musicals for both the Senior High and Junior High.  Winners of the coveted People’s Choice Awards will be announced and trophies handed out. There will also be trophy winners for awards given by the Directors.  After the ceremony, there will be dancing in the Youth Room with our very own ACA DJ Josh Hecox, and enjoy a delicious light snack dinner prepared by parent Ms. Wendy Krautter. It is an evening you do NOT want to miss. We encourage ALL PARENTS, FAMILIES, ACA STUDENTS, TEACHERS, and ALUMNI to attend.  Tickets will NOT be sold at the door and tickets are limited so purchase early to ensure your seat.



SEUSSICAL SOUVENIR HATS

There are a 8 “Cat in the Hat” hats left  from “Seussical the Musical” that we are selling for $4 each. The first 8 people that give Miss Becki $4, can have a hat!



LADIES SHOW CHOIR AUDITIONS

Girls entering grades 9 - 12 in the fall and interested in auditioning for Ladies Show Choir must attend the complimentary audition workshop on Tuesday, May 10th, 3:15 – 6:00pm.  Auditions will be held on Thursday, May 12th, 3:15 – 6:30 pm. To be eligible, you must attend at least 2 classes at ACA, be entering grades 9 - 12 in the fall, have a desire to serve the Lord through music and dance, and be willing to be active in your House.  Show Choir Packets are available in the school office.  Paperwork is due (in the office or to Mrs. Post) by Monday, May 9th.  If you have questions, please talk with Mrs. Post.



ACA SUMMER WEEKS OF THE ARTS

During the first two weeks of June, we will again have our Summer Weeks of the Arts.  During week one, there are many classes/camps to choose from including: puppet camp, chess, Grailball, Fun in the Kitchen, and MORE!  During week two, there are two choices: Theater camp “Aladdin, Kids”, and Set & Prop camp (for “Aladdin”).  Register early to reserve your student’s place in the camp of their choice!  Registration forms for Week One and for Week Two are attached below.



“ALADDIN” AUDITION WORKSHOP  

The audition workshop for “Aladdin Kids” will be held on SATURDAY, MAY 14th, from 9:00 am – 11:30 am. “Aladdin Kids” is ACA’s Summer Weeks of the Arts Community Theatre and open to all students entering grades 1-10 in the fall. At the workshop you will meet the directors and interns for “Aladdin Kids”, plus you will learn a short choir number and choreographed number from the show. All students that come to the workshop and enroll in the musical WILL BE CAST in a role.  We will only take 50 students (we already have 18 enrolled) so do not wait until the last minute to enroll… once we reach 50 students, we will close out this production! Invite your friends - they do not need to attend ACA!  The registration form is attached below and is also available in the school office.



MAY LUNCH ORDERS

Monthly lunch order forms for May are now available in the school office and are attached below.  If you are ordering for the month, please bring your order form and payment to the school office by Friday, April 29th.



SECONDARY CLASS SCHEDULE

Attached below you will find the secondary class schedule for 2016-2017.  If you have any questions, please refer back to the letter Mr. Post sent out on Monday, April 18, before calling the school.  There are no teacher names listed with the classes yet as some classes are still being assigned.



8TH GRADE TRIP & BAND TRIP

Payments for the 8th grade trip are due by Thursday, April 28.  Eighteen  8th graders and four adults will leave early on Friday, April 29, for their trip to OKC and Dallas.  This same weekend the 5th & 6th grade band members and several parents will be traveling to a band contest in Branson, MO.  Please keep all of these traveling students in your prayers this weekend!



OUR COSTUMES ARE TAKING OVER!

Our Performing Arts Dept. is in extreme need for storage space for props and costumes. If you know of any economical rental space, please contact Mrs. Post or Mr. Ahrens!  



IT’S ALMOST OK MOZART TIME AGAIN!

For those of you who may not know, OK Mozart is Oklahoma’s premier classical music festival. Last year, we were honored to have two of our ACA students taking part in this amazing concert series. This year’s festival begins on Sunday, June 12th and runs through Saturday, June 18th in Bartlesville.

OK Mozart and ACA have a strong relationship and to honor that relationship, their Executive Director, Dr. Randy Thompson has offered ACA a block of 30 tickets at a 20% discount for each night’s performance. With this offer, you can get a great price for an amazing performance while surrounded by your ACA family and friends. ACA will also receive a gift in the amount of 50% of all proceeds from the sale of these tickets to our ACA families!

This year’s performers include The OK Mozart Signature Symphony (select college students from around Oklahoma), The Signature Symphony Dance Band, The Tulsa Symphony Orchestra, The Bartlesville Symphony Orchestra, The Catherine Russell Quintet, Simply Three, and more.
