Caroline Rowland, daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Kevin Rowland, has been named the Valedictorian of the Class of 2016. Caroline will be attending Northeastern State University in Talequah this fall, and plans to major in Early Childhood Education.
Rachel Wolf, daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Tom Wolf, has been named Salutatorian of the Class of 2016. Rachel will be attending The University of Tulsa this fall, and she plans to double major in Anthropology and Music. Congratulations to both of these outstanding seniors!

Come enjoy an enchanting evening of singing tomorrow, May 5th, at 7:00 pm in the ACA Great Room. The evening is sponsored by the Intro to Musical Theater class and is a FREE event. There will be a reception following the concert.
AUGGIE AWARDS CEREMONY
You are invited to attend the SECOND Annual ACA Auggie Awards this Friday, May 6th, 7:00 pm, at St. James Methodist Church. The Cast and Crew from both “Sound of Music” and “Seussical” attend free, but they must pick up their ticket from the school office. Tickets must be picked up or purchased in the school office by Thursday, May 5th, close of business. Tickets are $5 with a maximum of $20 per family. The evening presenters all are ACA Theatre Alumni and our Master of Ceremonies this year is Kale Bloemker. There will be entertainment from Ladies Show Choir, Intro to Theatre Class, and Intro to Musical Theatre Class, and, of course, the announcement of next year’s musicals for both the Senior High and Junior High. Winners of the coveted People’s Choice Awards will be announced and trophies handed out. There will also be trophy winners for awards given by the Directors. After the ceremony, there will be dancing in the Youth Room with our very own ACA DJ Josh Hecox, and enjoy a delicious light snack dinner prepared by parent Ms. Wendy Krautter. It is an evening you do NOT want to miss. We encourage ALL PARENTS, FAMILIES, ACA STUDENTS, TEACHERS, and ALUMNI to attend. Tickets will NOT be sold at the door and tickets must be picked up/purchased by Thursday afternoon.
CONGRATULATIONS TO THE BAND
On Friday, April 29, 2016, the Augustine Christian Academy Beginner Band participated in the Music in the Parks Festival that was held at Silver Dollar City in Branson, MO. There were schools from several states in attendance with their band and choir ensembles. Band ensembles competed as Beginner Bands, Intermediate or Mid-High Bands, and High School Bands. ACA took 20 students to this competition and won first place in their class! ACA is very proud of the 2015-2016 Beginner Band and the great job they did in representing our school at this contest. Congratulations to Mrs. Dana Orcutt, band director, and to the band students!

LADIES SHOW CHOIR AUDITIONS
Last call for 9-12 High School Girls! If you love to sing and dance, have some prior experience in Theatre or Choir, please consider Ladies Show Choir. The Audition Workshop is NEXT Tuesday, May 10th with auditions on Thursday, May 12th. Pick up your packet by this FRIDAY from the school office as there are forms that need to be completed by your teachers by Monday, May 9th. Be sure to pick up the extra teacher forms from the office (you need one form for each teacher).
ACA SUMMER WEEKS OF THE ARTS
During the first two weeks of June, we will again have our Summer Weeks of the Arts. During week one, there are many classes/camps to choose from including: puppet camp, chess, Grailball, Fun in the Kitchen, and MORE! During week two, there are two choices: Theater camp “Aladdin, Kids”, and Set & Prop camp (for “Aladdin”). Register early to reserve your student’s place in the camp of their choice! Registration forms for Week One and for Week Two are attached below.
“ALADDIN” AUDITION WORKSHOP
The Audition Workshop will be held Saturday, May 14th from 9:00 am – 11:30 am. A parent meeting follows at 11:30. Don’t forget, there is only room for 50 cast members this year. Currently, we are half way filled! Don’t delay. When we hit 50, enrollment is CLOSED! Pick up your Registration form from the school office or see the Summer Weeks of the Arts information attached below.
END OF SCHOOL INFORMATION
Monday, May 16 - Grammar School classes will be going to the zoo. More information will be sent home by the Grammar School teachers.
Tuesday, May 17 - Grammar School Wrap Up Program will begin at 9:30 am in the ACA Great Room. Each class will present something they have learned this year, and the 5th graders will be inducted into the School of Dialectic and into the Houses. Parent and friends are welcome to attend this program.
This is the last day of regular classes. School will dismiss at noon for all students and there will not be any lunches offered and after school care will not be available. The secondary class schedule will be adjusted to allow all three classes to meet before noon. Watch for that adjusted schedule in next week’s Charger newsletter.
Wednesday, May 18 - Final Exam Day for secondary students. Students who need to take their finals may pick up their exams beginning at 8:00 am through 1:00 pm. Students must finish exams by 2:00 pm. No lunch will be offered and students must be picked up by 2:15.
Thursday, May 19 - Final Exam Day for secondary students. Students taking finals may pick up exams between 8:00 and 11:00 am, and exams must be finished by noon. No lunch will be offered and students must be picked up by 12:15 pm.
Dialectic (8th grade) Graduation will be held at 7:00 pm in the ACA Great Room. Students attending the graduation must wear their High Convocation uniforms. A reception will follow the ceremony.
Friday, May 20 - Seniors have graduation rehearsal at 10:00 am at SpiritLife Church, 5345 S. Peoria, Tulsa. The Senior & Staff Luncheon will be held at 12:30 in the ACA Performing Arts Building.
Rhetoric (12th grade) Graduation will be held at 7:00 pm at SpiritLife Church (5345 S. Peoria, Tulsa). Students attending graduation must wear their High Convocation uniform. A reception will follow the ceremony.

CREATIVE WRITING WORKSHOP
Free Creative Writing workshop at Hardesty Library in the Pecan Room, this Saturday, May 7th, for kids ages 8-12 (1:00 - 2:30pm) and for teens 13-18 (3:00 - 4:30pm).
PAINT WITH YOUR WORDS: Being able to paint a picture in the reader’s mind is the beginning of good storytelling. Using words instead of paint and a brush, your writing will come alive in bursts of color and texture as you learn to create a picture in the reader’s mind. Learn how to write vivid stories with author, and ACA parent, Gina Conroy.
