The Charger Newsletter

A HUGE THANK YOU to everyone who gave in the offering for the teachers and staff! With the matching gift, the offering totaled over $11,000! The offering will be distributed to our teachers and staff as Christmas bonuses. Again, thank you all so very much!

Christmas has arrived at ACA! Our foyer is overflowing with gorgeous poinsettia plants and you can take one home for only $10! They can be purchased at the school office or at any performance of “White Christmas”.

When you are wrapping your Christmas gifts this year, please save the cardboard tube; and when you are baking, save your plastic frosting containers & lids! Mrs. Thornhill, ACA art teacher, needs them for art classes. You can drop them off in the school office. Thanks!

Final exams for first semester will be on December 19, 20, & 21. All grades will dismiss early those three days. School will dismiss at 2:00 on the 19th & 20th, and at noon on the 21st. There will not be any lunch or afterschool care on Friday, December 21st and the school office will close at 12:30 that day. Secondary students need to attend only the class hours for which they are taking the final exam. The complete exam & dismissal schedule is attached below.

C & J Uniforms, our preferred uniform provider, is having a sale! All in-stock merchandise is 20% off through December 15th! It’s a great time to get your student some long sleeved polo shirts, or new slacks.

Your Board of Governors is always working hard to make ACA a better place for all. At our December meeting we discussed the following:
Budget Review - things are right on track
Fiscal accountability - Annual audit by outside firm showed no irregularities
Incident Procedures - enhancements to teacher & staff safety and incident reporting procedures
Building Improvement - Installation of windows in classroom doors
Current Facility -Looked at current facility use & better ways to maximize use
Long Term Plan Development - projections, goals, and facility options

It’s getting to be that time of year when snow and ice could hit the Tulsa area. We announce our school closing information on the local TV and radio stations as early as possible, but keep in mind that if Tulsa Public Schools are closed for bad weather, Augustine Christian Academy will be closed as well.

December 6-9: Performances of “White Christmas” are sold out
December 19-21: Final Exams for 1st Semester, early dismissal each day
December 24-Jan. 4: Christmas Break
January 4: Teacher work day
January 7: Second Semester begins
