The Charger Newsletter

It’s that time of year again! Augustine Christian Academy will announce school closings on channels 2, 6, & 8 as early as possible; however, keep in mind that if Tulsa Public Schools are closed for weather, ACA will be closed also. We will also put it on our Facebook page and send it out via Twitter. Please do not call the teachers or staff to ask if school is closed – they will want to go back to bed too! ;-)

The show must go on! Our plan is to have each performance of the play this weekend, even if we do not have school due to the weather. However, if the weather causes the roads to become impassable and we are forced to cancel a performance, we will send out an email and post it on our web site, ACA’s Facebook page & groups, and Twitter. Pray with us that the roads stay clear!

It will soon be Christmas! You can support the Performing Arts Booster Club by purchasing your Christmas poinsettia at ACA! Poinsettias will be available beginning tomorrow. Cost is $10 each and they are gorgeous!

Bouquets to honor your favorite actor or actress will be available for purchase at each performance of “It’s a Wonderful Life – the musical” this weekend. There will be a variety of sizes and prices available (beginning at $3) and bouquets can be delivered to the dressing rooms or you may present them yourself at the end of the performance. Proceeds benefit the Performing Arts Booster Club.

Join us for a Christmas Movie Night on Friday, Dec. 13th! Doors open at 6:00 and the movies begin at 7:00 p.m. Movies offered: “Polar Express”, “Miracle on 34th Street”, and “Disney’s A Christmas Carol”. Concessions will include: Baked Goods, Hot Chocolate, & Warm Cider. Cost is $3 per person, or $5 for a Combo Pack (admission, drink, snack, games). Students in grades 6 – 12 do not need to be accompanied by a parent, but students in 5th grade and younger MUST be accompanied by a sibling older than 12 or a parent. This event is a fundraiser for the East Coast Trip this spring.

ACA Juniors and Seniors going on the spring trip to the Eastern Seaboard are raising money with “Fun Pasta Fundraising”. They are excited to sell Fun Pasta because there is a large selection of products in fun shapes for everyone, and “online sales” earn even more profit for our group! But we need your help getting the word out…

Please forward this in an email and post on FACEBOOK encouraging all of your family and friends to order. With each online order placed on our group´s web page, 40% of the sale (excluding shipping) will go back to our group and help them achieve their fundraising goal for the trip! Visit the web site below… and remember that these products make great Christmas gifts!

Their fundraiser will end on 12/20/2013, so spread the word - and thank you so much for supporting the Junior/Senior East Coast Trip!

Grammar School Talent Show! On the last day of school before Christmas Break, December 19, the Grammar School students will be having a Talent Show. (In the morning – exact time to be announced later.) Students interested in being part of the talent show MUST sign up in the school office by THIS Friday, December 6. All acts must be “Christmas inspired/themed”. For more information, please contact Dr. McGuire at [email protected] .

The first semester is swiftly drawing to a close! Final exams, for those secondary students who are required to take them, will be on December 18 & 19. Students should find out from their teachers if they will be required to take their semester final. Grammar school students will have a regular school day on the 18th, but on the 19th they will be having their Talent Show before the noon dismissal. There will be no lunch offered and no after school care on the 19th and we will dismiss at noon.

As we near the celebration of the birth of our Savior, the Parent Prayer Ministry would like to thank you for the privilege of praying for your children and our wonderful staff at ACA. We have concluded the fall season, but we encourage you to consider joining us on January 15th, 2014 to resume praying for our students, staff and families of ACA during the second semester. Have a blessed holiday season!
Thank you,
Your Partners in Prayer
