Winter Court is a special annual event for ACA high school students designed to celebrate being part of the Kingdom of Christ and our unique relationship with each other as brothers and sisters in the Lord. The traditions of Winter Court are designed to remind us of our position in grace. Seniors are inducted into the New Order of Augustine and a King & Queen of Winter Court are crowned. This year Winter Court will be held on Friday, February 7th, in the Banquet Hall at Woodlake Assembly of God Church. The cost is $30 per student and tickets are on sale now. All girls attending (students & alumni & guests) must have their dresses checked by Mrs. Brewer prior to purchasing tickets. All guests, including alumni, must submit a “Winter Court Guest Form” in order to purchase a ticket. The Guest Form is attached below. School will dismiss at noon on February 7th (all grades) and there will be no lunch and no after school care.
There was no need for “call backs” because the auditions went so well yesterday! Cast parents: don’t forget to sign up for Virtual Stage Manager so Mrs. Post can keep you updated on rehearsals, etc.
SALT & LIGHT CHAPEL
Our Salt & Light speaker for Monday, January 28th, is author, Catherine Zoller. Catherine will share her heart and vision through a testimony of hardship and triumph. We know you will be inspired. She will have a display table to show her Rhyme and Reason book series, a journey through the Bible through rhyme; and will be available to answer any questions you may have. Parents, feel free to join us at 9:15 Monday morning. Students must wear High Convocation uniforms on Monday!
PABC CHOCOLATE BAR SALES
The Performing Arts Booster Club is preparing for our big fundraiser! As voted on and approved at our membership meeting in August, we will once again be selling World’s Finest Chocolates. Many thanks to Vickie Wilsterman for working to get the chocolate bars ordered, and to Janice Silver for volunteering to manage the chocolate sales.
Each PABC family is asked to sell at least one box of 60 candy bars. Boxes will be checked out to your student(s) on Tuesday, January 28, or Wednesday, January 29, after school in the Great Room. (Cast members of “School House Rock” can check theirs out following rehearsal on January 28.) There are prizes for the top sellers and your family may check out more than one box. You will have a little over three weeks to sell, with proceeds being due back to the school office by Friday, February 21.
We would prefer boxes be purchased when they are picked up: $60/box with checks made payable to ACA. If this is a hardship for your family, please pick up your box(es) anyway and once you have sold your candy bars (by February 21), you can bring a check to the school office (please deposit the cash and write a personal check to ACA for the chocolate bars). On your checks, please put “chocolate” or “PABC” on the memo line.

Send your love in a song! The ACA Ladies Show Choir will be doing Singing Valentines again this year! For only $35 the Show Choir will: serenade your loved one, present a personalized card, & deliver a rose. “Phone-a-Gram” Singing Valentines will also be available for your loved ones who live outside the Tulsa area. Watch your email for the order forms - they will be available soon!
Mr. Post & Miss Rogers taught the junior high students how to make giant 3-D snowflakes for Winter Court. We are having a contest for those students in grades 6-12 who would like to be even more creative. Students may alter the basic pattern to create something truly beautiful and unique. The snowflakes will be judged, and the one deemed best will receive a $10 prize. Snowflakes must be brought to the office by Monday, February 3rd. Students should put the snowflakes in a bag with their name on it (DO NOT put a name on the snowflake itself). Winner will be announced that week, and all the snowflakes will be displayed at Winter Court on Feb. 7th.
FEBRUARY LUNCH ORDER FORMS
The monthly lunch order form for February is now available in the school office and is attached below. Students ordering for the month should turn in their forms and payment by Jan. 31. Students may still order each morning, the monthly order form is for your convenience.
COLD & FLU SEASON
We have had many students out this week with illness! Tulsa County has had more reported cases of the flu than any other county in Oklahoma! Please remind your students to wash their hands often, do not share water bottles or other beverages, and cover their mouths when coughing & sneezing! Also, please do not send students to school if they have a fever! Students must be fever-free for 24 hours before returning to school after an illness! Thank you for helping us to keep our students healthy!
Keep in mind that if Tulsa Public Schools are closed for weather, ACA will be closed also. We will also send out an email, put it on the ACA Facebook page, and send it out via Twitter. Please do not call the teachers or staff to ask if school is closed – they will want to go back to bed too! ;-)
