Our Scholastic Book Fair is this week in the school foyer. Stop in and take a look at all the books. This is new to ACA and we are very excited to be able to host a Scholastic Book Fair! ACA can earn free books for our library and classrooms!
Grandparent’s Day for our Grammar School is this Friday, March 28. The classes are putting together some wonderful plans and Dr. McGuire and the teachers are looking forward to meeting our elementary students’ grandparents, and giving them an opportunity to see our amazing school.
SCHOOL HOUSE ROCK!
We are only two weeks away from opening night! This is an incredible show jam packed with hummable songs and foot-stomping choreography. Tickets are on sale and can be purchased through the school office. Don’t wait until the last minute. This production WILL sell out.
Opening Night, April 10, is also a special evening for prospective parents with students in grades K – 8th. After the performance, they will be invited to meet the principals and take the tour of the school. We are reserving a block of tickets, so if they contact us in advance, they will be our guests to the Thursday evening performance of School House Rock. If you have friends or family with children in this age bracket that are looking for a great school, have them contact the school office for the tour and performance on April 10th.
CAST PARENTS: CORRECTION! Cast fees are due now! If you are not sure if you have paid your fees, please contact the school office for assistance. Also, we have large and small full color posters that need to be put up around town. Please pick up a few to put up in your church, work, organization, etc. and help us get the word out about this fun production!
Our Spring Fundraiser is set for Saturday, April 5th at the Skyline 60 (the 60th floor of the City Plex towers). Our theme this year is Trivia Night! and the evening will be filled with fun and special ACA entertainment. Your secondary students will tell you that Mr. Post & Mr. Brewer know a thing or two about hosting a fun Trivia contest. Tickets are $15 per person or $120 to sponsor a table for 8. Let’s invite our family, friends, co-workers and bosses! We know it will be a lot of fun, but we also need to stress that it is a fundraiser and we don’t want to be shy about asking for support for this amazing school.
There will be a Live Auction that will be held during the scoring periods. Currently, we have 4 Park Hopper tickets to Walt Disney World, 4 tickets to Wicked at the PAC, Jewelry from Moody’s Jewelry, tickets to The Sound of Music, tickets to the American String Quartet, etc.

REMINDER TO PARENTS OF SENIORS!
Seniors who are ordering graduation announcements through ACA must submit a digital copy of their photo to the school office. IF YOU HAVE NOT YET SUBMITTED YOUR SENIOR’S PHOTO, PLEASE DO IT ASAP! If you submitted a photo to the yearbook staff and want to use that same picture for announcements, you MUST let us know to use the same one. Please email photo to [email protected] using the largest format possible. Announcements do not need to be paid for until you pick them up in April. Costs are: 25 for $17.50, 50 for $27.50, 75 for $34.50, and 100 for $42.50. If you do not submit a photo by April 1st, we will assume you are getting your graduation announcements somewhere else.
ACA high school students must take the Rhetoric Grammar class or successfully pass the Rhetoric English Mastery Exam (REME) before graduating from ACA. The REME is usually given twice in the spring and twice in the summer. The cost of the REME testing is $50.00 for three opportunities to pass the test. Students who pass the test with an 80% or better score are not required to take our high school Rhetoric Grammar class. The next date for the REME this spring is Wednesday, April 23 at 4:00 p.m. Students must sign up in advance to take the REME and they can do that by stopping by the office or by emailing: [email protected]
APRIL LUNCH ORDER FORMS
The monthly lunch order form for April is attached below and is also available in the school office. Please note that the April order form begins with March 31st and is for five weeks of school! If you are ordering for the month of April, please return your order form and payment to the school office by this Friday, March 28th.
PABC APPRECIATION NIGHT
Our final Performing Arts Booster Club membership meeting for the year will be combined with our cast parent appreciation night. We are planning a lovely dessert buffet and anticipating some entertainment by our very own ACA students. Mark your calendars and plan to attend on Tuesday, April 29. PABC OFFICER NOMINATIONS
The Performing Arts Booster Club will be electing new officers for the 2014-2015 school year at their April 29th meeting. The current Vice-President, Tina Nettles, will become the President per the club by-laws, but there are other positions that will need to be filled. If you are interested in serving or if you know someone who should be considered, please contact Kathryn Lockhart at 918-812-2733.
JUNIOR HIGH TRIP
Information on the Junior High Trip in April was distributed to students before spring break. If your junior high student did not receive the information, please have them see Mrs. Miller. The trip dates are April 25 – 27th and they will be going to Nashville. There is limited seating available on the vans for this trip, and not every junior high student will be able to go. Turn in the permission slip & payment to hold your students spot for the trip. Junior High students not going to Nashville will not have school that Friday & Monday. Please contact Mrs. Miller or the school office with questions.
SUMMER THEATRE AT ACA
Disney’s Jungle Book – Kids – Grades 2-9
If you are planning your summer, don’t forget about our week of Summer Theatre, June 9 - 13. This year’s production, Disney’s Jungle Book is going to be another fabulous production you won’t want to miss. Our summer theatre is open to the community so invite all your friends and family! There are tons of parts for both elementary and junior high students. Students are eligible to participate if they are entering grades 2 - 9. Look for the Information Package available in April.
