The Charger Newsletter

ACA is now enrolling for our new Pre-K Academic Half-Day Program.  This program will be Monday – Friday mornings with the choice of picking up at 11:30 or at noon (before or after lunchtime).  Tuition is $2750 per year (pro-rated).  Please share this information with your friends and family that might be looking for a half day K4 program!  Contact Dr. McGuire in the school office for more information.

Reminder:  The doors to the school do not open until 7:15 in the mornings.  If you arrive earlier than 7:15, please remain with your child in the parking lot until the magnetic locks release at 7:15.  Beginning at that time we will have adult supervision in the Great Room for your children.  Students are to remain in the Great Room until the bell releases them at 7:55 to go to their classroom.  Please remind your students that they are not free to wander the building before school.  Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

A local company is shooting a commercial and is looking for real life moms!  No experience necessary!  If you are interested in being considered for this commercial, that will be shot in Tulsa on Sept. 3 or 4, contact former ACA parent Laurie Cascairo at [email protected] for more information.

They might be able to use you if you fit one of these descriptions:

The commercial will feature actual Oklahoma moms, who do not have talent agents.

They are looking for a Caucasian brunette in her 40’s, an African American woman in her 30’s, and a Hispanic woman in her 30’s.

It would be awesome for some ACA moms to be in this commercial!  Contact Laurie Cascairo as soon as possible if you are interested!  [email protected]

The high school Audio Video Club will meet on Monday afternoons from 3:45-5:00 in the Library and Computer Lab. This is a student led club (supervised by Mr. Ahrens) for technology minded students in 9th - 12th grades.  If your students are interested in learning about filming or editing, have them join us for our next meeting on Monday, September 8th.  There will be an after hours commitment during our production nights.

Our full line up of vender lunches began this week!  Older elementary students and secondary students order in their first hour class, but young elementary students must order at the office window.  Parents may set up a ledger page in the office for your students to use for lunch purchases.  Our venders this year include Chick-fil-A, Subway, Cici’s, and Freckles.  New this year is “Augustine Café” on Fridays.  This week, on Friday, the Augustine Café is offering PB&J sandwiches and Gourmet Chicken Salad sandwiches.  Attached below is the monthly lunch order form for the month of September.   If you wish to order for the month, please turn in your order form and payment by this Friday, August 29.  Please call the office if you have any questions about our lunches or ordering lunches for your students.

We need you!  We need you join us to pray for just one hour a week, on Wednesday mornings, from 8:15-9:15.  We pray for our children, our school, and our families; so it is an opportunity to make one hour in your week have an eternal impact!  Please join us in the PAB on Wednesday morning at 8:15 every week, once a month, or even only a couple of times a year!  If you have any questions, call Carmen Applebaum at 918-720-9922.  See you there!

Just a reminder: student art fees are due by this Friday, August 29th.  The art fee for K4 – 5th grade is $10, for Junior High Art class $30, and for Studio Art $35.  These fees should be paid in the school office.  Art teacher, Mrs. Linda Thornhill, is able to purchase supplies for the art classes in bulk at a more reasonable cost than it would be for parents to hunt down the supplies needed.  Thank you for your help in getting your art fees in on time!

This Friday is the Final Friday of August and therefore it is a Final Friday Spirit Wear Day for everyone… no coupon necessary!  Students may wear any ACA-sponsored club or House T-shirt with clean, well-fitting blue jeans (relaxed fit, denim, plain, neat and in good repair), or uniform shorts, and athletic shoes.  New students who do not yet have an ACA t-shirt to wear, may wear their ACA polo shirt with jeans.  Also on Friday students will be having a rally to kick off the Fall Fundraiser event.  The rally will be at 3:00 p.m. so class times will be slightly adjusted to allow time for the rally.  The adjusted time schedule is attached below.

Have you heard of Amazon Smile?  When you shop at Amazon will make a donation to ACA for 0.5% of your purchase of eligible products.  Go to and register for your donations to go to Augustine Christian Academy!  This is a fast and easy way to support ACA!

Yes, we accept Box Tops and Soup Labels!  Bring your Box Tops for Education and your Campbell’s Labels for Education to the school office!  These can be redeemed for classroom supplies and money for ACA.

If you shop at Office Depot, please ask them to credit your purchase to Augustine Christian Academy.  Office Depot sends a gift card to us twice a year that is equal to 5% of the purchases credited to the school by customers.  This can help us quite a lot during the year!
