CARRY THE LIGHT FUNDRAISER
This Friday, October 3rd, our secondary students will “Carry the Light” through acts of community service with their Houses at the Community Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma, The Little Lighthouse, Oasis Adult Daycare, and the Clarehouse Hospice Home. Part-time students should note that there will not be any classes meeting that day. Part-time students are encouraged to attend all day and participate in the community service projects, lunch, and House games if they are able.
This same day, our Grammar School students will learn about “carrying the light” through stations representing world missions. Their day will include food and games from around the world, and a Samaritan’s Purse station where our students will be packing shoe boxes for Operation Christmas Child. We hope to fill 75 shoe boxes, but we are still need of additional items for the shoe boxes! Please consider donating small toys, stuffed animals, child size socks or mittens, coloring books, crayons, sunglasses, hair bows, small flashlights (& extra batteries), hats, markers, kazoos, whistles, yoyos, small balls, matchbox cars, etc…. use your imagination! Bring donations to the school office.

“THE BEST DAY OF MY LIFE”
Don’t forget to mark your calendar and come out for the first Little Theatre of the year on FRIDAY, OCTOBER 10TH at 7:00 p.m. The Show Choir and Vocal Express will be singing, plus you will get a sneak peek from the high school’s upcoming production of “Oklahoma” AND be treated to a selection from our upcoming children’s musical “The Christmas Messiah” (directed by Dr. McGuire). The Performing Arts Booster Club will be serving PIZZA for $1.50 a slice (pepperoni and cheddar pretzel from Little Caesars) as well as beverages, candy, & popcorn for $1 each. You can purchase concessions beginning at 6:30 p.m. Cost at the door: Adults $2, Students and Children $1. Come early to get a seat because seating is limited. PARENTS OF SENIORS MEETING
There will be a meeting for the parents for our senior class on Friday, Oct. 10, at 6:00 p.m. Mr. Post will be distributing information concerning graduation, senior pictures, graduation announcements, caps & gowns, etc. It is very important that at least one parent attend this meeting! Mr. Post will dismiss you in time to attend the Little Theatre that evening.
We were saddened this week by the news that Mrs. Sharon Pearson, mother of two ACA students, Nathan in 11th grade and Joel in 9th grade, had passed away on Tuesday morning following a battle with cancer. Her funeral will be held this Friday morning. Please keep this precious family in your prayers.
PERFORMING ARTS BOOSTER CLUB MEETING
On October 11th, at 11:00 a.m., the PABC will hold a general membership meeting. “Oklahoma” cast member families are already members of the Booster Club. Membership applications for non-cast families, or for “Peter Pan” cast families, can be found on the ACA web site in the “Performing Arts” section along with additional information about the PABC. All membership levels are payable in the school office with your completed application for. It’s best to get your membership early in the school year to get in on all the discounts for the fall musical tickets and Little Theaters. Light refreshments will be provided at the meeting. Information concerning member benefits, performing arts calendar, the PABC bylaws, volunteer opportunities, PABC fundraisers, and the executive board will all be presented and discussed. Please make every effort to get your membership turned in and to attend this meeting on October 11th.
PARENT PRAYER MINISTRY
We need you! We need you join us to pray for just one hour a week, on Wednesday mornings, from 8:15-9:15. We pray for our children, our school, and our families; so it is an opportunity to make one hour in your week have an eternal impact! Please join us in the PAB on Wednesday morning at 8:15 every week, once a month, or even only a couple of times a year! If you have any questions, call Carmen Applebaum at 918-720-9922.
