Winter Court is the annual formal banquet for ACA high school students. It is designed to celebrate being part of the Kingdom of Christ and our unique relationship with each other as brothers and sisters in the Lord.  The traditions of our Winter Court event are designed to remind us of our position in grace, in a setting reminiscent of a time of times past.

This year Winter Court will be held on Friday, January 30th, beginning at 6:00 p.m.  It will be in a new location – the Tulsa Event Center, 2625 S. Memorial Drive, Tulsa.  All ACA high school students are encouraged to attend!  Tickets for Winter Court are on sale now and cost $35 each.  Tickets will not be available after January 28th.

ACA students are allowed to bring a date from another school provided that their date is willing to respect the purpose and standards of this formal evening and dress according to the code listed below.  Dates from another school must have their parents sign a consent form (attached below).

1. All dresses must be tea or floor length

2. All dresses must have a modest neckline. That is, it must be no lower than mid-back and reveal no cleavage in the front.

3. Any slits must be no higher than knee length

4. No tight-fitting or form-fitting dresses.

5. Gentlemen must wear tuxedos, dark suits, or coats, dress slacks, and ties.

Young ladies must bring their dress to the school for approval or they may send pictures of themselves in the dress they plan to wear (front & back) to the following email address for approval.  Please indicate your name and/or the ACA student with whom the young lady will to attend.  Send photos to: [email protected]

Following Winter Court the senior class is hosting an after-banquet dance party that is not sponsored by the school, but is chaperoned by parents.   Students should contact one of the seniors for more information.

Professional photography will available at Winter Court.  Price sheets will soon be available in the school office.  Picture orders must be paid in full prior to or at Winter Court.

In the Tulsa area, the weather can change quickly and now, during the winter months, we want you to know our Weather/Snow Day Policy:

The Inclement Weather/Snow Day policy we will adopt for the season is as follows: ACA will be focused on the ability of our families to safely navigate the roads and our parking lot.  ACA will remain openunless specifically noted on the school closings list on Channels 2, 6 and 23 and their websites. We will close the school when warranted if snow or ice would cause unsafe traveling conditions for our families. Low temperatures alone may not result in our closing the school. We recognize that this is a deviation from years past when we were tied specifically to the Tulsa Public Schools winter weather closing decisions.

We know that we will not be able to please everyone when these hard decisions need to be made and we appreciate your understanding.  Because snow & ice accumulation often differs north of Tulsa & south of Tulsa, if you have a student driver, please use your own discretion as to whether or not you feel they should be out on the roads.

As you may have heard, one of our secondary teachers, Mrs. Deleise Brewer resigned last week.  Due to their failing health, Mrs. Brewer’s parents came to live with her and her husband, Kirk, in December.  Since then her mother has suffered a heart attack and required by-pass surgery.  Feeling the need to be more available for her mom and dad, Deleise decided she would need to resign from ACA.  Please pray for the Brewer family as she transitions to being at home caring for her parents.

ACA will be closed on Monday, January 19, in honor of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.  Enjoy your long weekend!

C & J Uniforms, our preferred uniform provider, is having a “one day only” 20% off sale on January 19th.  If your student needs new uniform items to finish the school year, please check them out.

DVD’s of the ACA production of “School House Rock” are now available for purchase in the school office.  The dvd costs $20.00 and checks should be made payable to Kenneth Jones.

Yes, that does say “Valentine Store”…  If you were cleaning out trinkets, figurines, stuffed animals, and small gift items over the Christmas break, please consider bringing items in new or “like new” condition to the ACA office for the Performing Arts Booster Club’s Valentine Store.  Re-purpose those small items and help the PABC raise money for ACA’s musical productions!
