ACA does not have school this Friday - we will be off for Good Friday.  We pray that your family will have a blessed Easter weekend!

Amy McIntosh, wife of our secondary science teacher and mom of two of our Grammar School boys (3rd & K4), has been battling cancer for the past five months.  As of today she is entering hospice and we are asking all of you to pray for this precious family.  As a tangible way to show our love for the McIntosh family, we would like to shower them with gift cards to use over the next few weeks.  If you would like to participate, please bring gift cards to the school office by Monday, April 6th.  We are thinking especially of restaurants, Walmart, Quik Trip, etc. but any gift cards are welcome.  Thank you so much!

We now have the FACTS monthly payment forms for the 2015-2016 school year.  If you are planning to pay your tuition next year with the monthly payment option of FACTS automatic withdrawals, please stop by the school office and pick up the payment form.  Forms need to be returned to the office at least three weeks prior to the first payment.

The 5th Grade Beginner Band is sponsoring a “Spirit Week” next week, April 6 - 10, but students need to purchase a pass to participate.  (The band is raising money for their competition in Branson later in April.)  For $10 a student can purchase a pass for the entire week entitling them to wear Spirit Wear each day and wear the crazy items listed below.  For $5 students may purchase a pass entitling them to wear the crazy items listed below with their regular uniform all week.  For $2 per day, a student may choose the days they would like to wear Spirit Wear and the crazy item listed below.  Passes must be purchased from Ms. Bouma, 5th grade teacher, before school, after school, and at lunch time on Thursday and Monday.

Spirit Week Items:

Monday - Crazy Tie Day

Tuesday - Crazy Sox & Shoes

We are offering the Chad Cargill ACT Prep Class next Wednesday, April 8th, here at ACA.  The cost is $30 per student and is open to students in 9th - 12th grade.  The class will be from 8:30 to 11:30 that morning.

We still have some space in the class, but students must sign up by Monday, April 6th.  Stop by the office or contact Mrs. Collingsworth at: [email protected] to register.

Students graduating from ACA must take the high school Rhetoric Grammar class or take the REME (Rhetoric English Mastery Exam) and pass it with a score of 80% or better.  We are offering the REME again on Wednesday, April 15th at 3:45 p.m.  Students may sign up for the REME in the school office.  The cost is $50 for three opportunities to pass the REME.

The All for Books loose change drive collected $76.86 and the Grammar School was able to purchase 22 books to donate to St. Francis Children’s Hospital.  Also, Scholastic will donate 1 book for every dollar raised in the All for Books campaign, so they will donate 76 books to “Kids in Distressed Situations”.  Congratulations to the 3rd grade class for collecting the most loose change and winning the popsicle party.  IF YOU COULDN’T STOP IN during the book fair last week, you can still support our book fair by shopping online through April 4th - go to:  Thanks so much for your support!

Parents of Seniors:  Now is the time to consider highlighting your senior in the 2014-15 yearbook. Senior yearbook dedications are a great way to express to your child how much you love them and value their graduation milestone.  Dedication requests will be accepted through Friday, April 10, on a first-come, first-served basis, as space is limited.  Rates vary from $40 for one-eighth page to $280 for a full page.  Please see the attached form below for the specifications and submission guidelines.

BUSINESS OWNERS: We are now accepting ads for the yearbook!  This is an excellent opportunity to promote your business to our ACA families and support the yearbook.  Ad sizes range from 1/8th page (business card) to a full page.  For prices and more information, please contact the school office or Karen Aspenson at [email protected]   Ad space is available on a first come, first-served basis.

May 1 – 7:00 p.m. at St. James Methodist Church, Tulsa

Enjoy an evening  celebrating and honoring the cast members of “Oklahoma” and “Peter Pan”.  Modeled after “The Academy Awards”, you will be treated to great entertainment from Show Choir, Vocal Express, and Alumni . I will be an evening you will remember. Following the award ceremony, parents will meet in the dining area for finger food and beverages. Our last Booster Club meeting of the school year will take place at this time. The cast and students will meet in the youth room where a live DJ will help them dance the evening away.  Pizza and beverages will also be served. Dress code for the evening is semi-formal (Winter Court appropriate – girls are encouraged to wear one of their previous winter court dresses, guys need to wear a tie).
