Tickets for our fall musical “The Sound of Music” are on sale now!  The cast has been hard at work and these performances will be outstanding! Tickets cost $10 for adults and $7.00 for students (through high school).  The performances of “The Sound of Music” will be as shown:

  • Thursday, November 12th at 7:00 p.m.
  • Friday, November 13th at 7:00 p.m.
  • Saturday, November 14th at 2:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.
  • Sunday, November 15th at 3:00 p.m.

Our productions do sell out, so please don’t wait until the last minute to get your tickets!  Get them early to assure you get tickets to the performance of your choice!


Next Friday evening, October 23rd, at 6:30 p.m. in the ACA great room, the Class of 2016 is sponsoring a Chili Dinner & Dessert Auction.  Costs are $4.00 for one bowl of chili and a can of pop, or $6.00 for an endless bowl of chili and a can of pop.  Chili Fixin’s are included in the above prices and include: cheese, sour cream, fritos, crackers, & cornbread.  For an additional dollar or two, you can add a baked potato, spaghetti, or a hot dog to your meal (or another can of pop in case you’re eating the hot & spicy chili)!


NEW THIS YEAR: the evening will include a Chili Cook Off!  If you think you make the BEST chili ever, you should enter the Chili Cook Off!  We hope to have a variety of chili in the competition: chicken chili, vegetarian, extra spicy, wild meat chili, and traditional varieties are all welcome!  To enter the Chili Cook Off (or for more information) email Mrs. Cathey at: [email protected]   In your email, please indicate what kind of chili you will be entering in the contest.


Following your dinner, you will want to stay for the Dessert Auction!  Several delicious desserts will be prepared by our seniors and will be auctioned off to the highest bidder.  Then the evening will end with a Seniors vs. Parents Grailball Game.  You won’t want to miss this fun evening with ACA families!


Mr. Rodgers and Mr. Jackson will be heading up the following set/prop building date for cast parents and students (high school age!) who have either signed up or want to join the team.  The set building date is  Saturday, Oct. 24th.  We’ll work from 9:00 a.m. until 2:00 or from 10:00 until 3:00, and just a reminder that volunteer hours are in blocks of 5 hours, so we ask that if you are working your volunteer hours, to work one of those two scheduled times.  ACA high school students who come to help will receive community service hours, but their time cannot count toward cast parents’ volunteer hours.


On Monday, October 26th, our Salt & Light secondary chapel speaker will be Holly Hudelson, Director of Public Relations and Co-Founder of Unlock Freedom, a Human Trafficking Awareness Initiative formed to teach teens and parents about internet safety and the growing risks facing our teens. This is a highly sensitive and even frightening topic, but in this age, awareness is critical. We want to partner with you to make sure the information is presented to your child in a safe and controlled manner.  We would ask that you read the parent letter attached below and view the videos listed below. After viewing, please consider sharing them with your child. These are a great dramatic presentation of the issues we will discuss in a Q & A format during chapel. Mr. John Ahrens moderates the discussions in our Salt & Light chapels and will be allowing for candid questions from the students in the last 15 minutes of our chapel time. Please know that you are always welcome to join us during our Monday morning chapel time. Salt & Light chapels begin at 9:10 and run until 10:10. You may also call the office and schedule an appointment to discuss any concerns you may have. We will run this message twice prior to October 26th to give you time to view the material and share it with your students. Thank you.

Congratulations to Griffin House for winning the 1st Quarter!  All Houses now start again at zero points for 2nd quarter.  Great job Griffins!


The long-awaited dvd’s of the ACA summer production of Disney’s “The Lion King” are here!  If you ordered a dvd, you can stop by the school office to pay and pick up your dvd.  The cost is $10 each and checks can be made payable to ACA.

The “Peter Pan” dvd’s are also still available in the office.  Those dvd’s cost $20 each.
