SALT & LIGHT CHAPEL
On Monday, January 25th, our Salt & Light Chapel guest will be Jung Jacob Song, songwriter/arranger, recording engineer and producer at Black Box Studio, in Tulsa. We look forward to hearing about his journey and how the Lord is able to use him in the music industry. Please join us Monday morning at 9:10 if you would like to join us for this very exciting secondary chapel service. Secondary students must wear their High Convocation uniform on Monday! The class schedule will be adjusted to allow our speaker a bit more time - please see the Salt & Light schedule attached below.
Winter Court, our annual formal event for high school students, will be held on the evening of Friday, January 29th. Winter Court will be held at Woodlake Assembly Church beginning at 6:00 p.m. Tickets are on sale now in the school office and are $35 per student! Tickets will only be available through Wednesday, January 27th. Students who are bringing dates who do not attend ACA, must pick up a Guest Permission Form in the school office. All girls must have their dresses checked for modesty - please contact Miss Crow at [email protected] for more information.
Parents, because this is a special time for our students, parents are not invited to come into Winter Court, even to “snap a picture or two”. We know you are curious, but it really interrupts the formal aspect of the event when parents are walking around in their street clothes snapping pictures. Please take pictures of your children at home before they come and ask them to take pictures to show you later.
Also Parents: We need a few volunteers to help with pick-up/clean-up at the end of Winter Court. Parents would need to arrive at Woodlake Church at 8:45 and would be done by 9:45ish. If you can help, please email Mrs. Cathey at [email protected] to volunteer.
To allow our students and staff the time necessary to set up and get ready for Winter Court, we will dismiss school that day at 12:05. There will be no lunch and no after school care offered on the 29th. Please see the secondary class schedule attached below. (Those who pre-ordered lunches for January 29th will have their money refunded to their lunch ledger or to their student.) Please make plans to have your students picked up by 12:15 that Friday. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
7th and 8th graders who have been selected to serve at Winter Court will not report to the school that day. Instead they will report to Woodlake Church at 2:00 p.m. to set up and prepare for the evening.
NEW ESSENTIAL OILS POLICY
After some discussion, we have decided to add a policy to address essential oils. These oils have many different uses and people have turned to them to aid in relief of different ailments. As a school we want to respect all of our families. We are in the process of writing an official and detailed policy for our school handbook that will be helpful to both people using and not using essential oils. For the time being, the acting policy will be as follows: All students will have to check in all essential oils to the office. It must be labeled with the student’s name and in a bag if more than one. Students will NOT be allowed to carry essential oils on their person. The school will not administer essential oils to students.
On Saturday, February 27th, ACA will be hosting our Third Annual Trivia Night and Auction Fundraiser. The event will be held at the Junior League of Tulsa located at 3633 S. Yale Ave. immediately adjacent to The Little Light House. Tables will be decorated in themes (and some of our evening’s participants will be in full costume!) and there will be awards given for originality and design. Doors will open at 6:00 p.m. for table hosts to decorate their tables and the Trivia rounds will begin promptly at 7:00 p.m. Refreshments will be available throughout the evening.

Our Grammar Classes and Secondary Houses will be competing for Best Gift Basket for the Auction phase of the evening. We are still in need of a few more auction item donations. Let us know if you can assist us in securing donations.
Reserve your table today and let us know your theme for the evening. Tables seat 10 and can be reserved for a donation of $100 (or $10 per ticket).

Attention ACA parents! Now is the chance to put what you want to say about ACA in the yearbook!!! For only $50, you can sponsor a page in our yearbook and write a short blurb about whatever you’d like! You can write something about ACA ‘s students, faculty and staff, or any other school affiliated events. You can give words of wisdom, thanks, advice, or just give a shout out to your student. Pick up an order form from the school office. Orders and payment is due February 26, 2016. Maximum number of characters is 140. AFTER SCHOOL DROP-IN REMINDER
This is just a reminder about the drop-in feature of our after school program. It is designed for those who are just running a little behind schedule occasionally. If you are moving into a season where your child will need to remain after school for longer than half an hour on a regular basis, please register for our Extended Day program. There are group projects, games, activities, and snack is provided. Drop-In is for short stay only and is mostly homework focused. With the musical coming into full swing very soon, some of you may need to consider using the Extended Day program. If you have any questions, please contact Mr. Ahrens at [email protected]
With the possibility of snowy days on the horizon, we wanted to send out another reminder to please download the SchoolWay App to your phone before winter weather hits the Tulsa area! We do announce our school closings on the local TV stations, but an alert that comes right to your phone is so much more efficient! These are “alert only” messages, so it will be infrequent but important. See the flyer attached below for more information.
