English 8 teacher, Mrs. Sandra Massey, was presented with a special award from VFW Post 577 for her patriotism in having her students enter the Patriot’s Pen Essay Contest each year.  A representative of Post 577 came to chapel on Monday to surprise Mrs. Massey with her award.  She has had several of her students win awards in the VFW’s Essay Contest over the past few years, the most current winner being 8th grader Elise Culp.  Congratulations to Mrs. Massey and to Elise Culp!

IT’S THAT TIME AGAIN!  The World’s Finest Chocolate bars have arrived and will be ready for distribution next week.  ANY student or family can purchase or sell a box of the chocolates; however, if you were in the cast of “Sound of Music” or you are currently in the cast of “Seussical”, each cast member must sell or purchase ONE BOX of chocolates. If a family has more than one child participating in the school musicals, they are required to sell OR purchase 2 boxes. These chocolate bars are delicious and easy to sell at only $1 each.  This year we are offering CASH prizes for the top sellers: $200 (first place), $100 (second place), and $50 (third place). The deadline to return money in is MARCH 11th, which gives students approximately one month to sell boxes of chocolate bars.  There will be an informational letter going out next week along with instructions. This is the only fundraiser the Performing Arts Dept. runs with proceeds used to fund the great musicals at ACA, so that we can continue to keep our cast fees to a minimum, as well as provide professional lighting for all of our shows. Thank you in advance for supporting the Performing Arts program at ACA!

Our Art teacher, Mrs. Thornhill, is in need of styrofoam egg cartons and brown paper bags for her art classes.  If you have any of these you can donate, please drop them off at the school office.

One of our students lost a ring at school toward the end of last semester - she purchased the ring on the ACA Israel trip last spring, so it has a lot of sentimental value for her.  It is a silver band with a Hebrew inscription that goes all the way around the band.  Please ask your students if they may have seen it!  It can be brought to the office if found - no questions asked!  We would love to be able to locate this ring for her.  Thanks so much!

Our regular office hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. each day that school is in session. If you need to reach someone outside of office hours, please email [email protected] .
