There are many times in our lives where we face obstacles that seem insurmountable. Other times, we find that someone is in the path of something we know we are supposed to do saying “You can’t do that!” It is at these times that two little words can make a huge difference in your journey. You find yourself facing down a daunting task, but GOD can see you through. You are told the challenge is too great, but GOD gives you the strength you need to succeed. You are told that you can’t build an amazing classical christian school, but GOD……
We were blessed on Saturday night to hear a very moving keynote address from Mr. Kirk Post, our Headmaster and one of the school’s founders. We are asking that all of you take a few moments to read his amazing and moving address which is attached below. You will find it well worth your time!
TRIVIA NIGHT RESULTS
A big thank you to everyone who contributed to the success of our Trivia Night Fundraiser event. The trivia winners of the night were “The Kings & Queens of Trivia” hosted by Mrs. Carolyn King; and the winners of the table theme/decor was the Candy Crush table hosted by Mrs. Dana Orcutt. We will soon have a perpetual plaque in the lobby with the winning teams from last year as well as this year, so that we can begin the “bragging rights” going forward for this annual event. So far, our total money raised is nearing $25k, but we want to invite those of you who were unable to attend the event, but who still wish to contribute, to print the attached Donation Card or visit the Support ACA page on our website. You can choose a one-time gift or small, monthly donations. Every little gift goes a long way and is very much appreciated.
“SEUSSICAL THE MUSICAL”
Cast Parents may purchase their “Seussical” tickets during EARLY sales this week. All cast fees must be paid in order to purchase tickets. You can check with Becki or Jill in the school office to see if you still owe any cast fees.
TICKET SALES begin Monday, March 7th for the general public! Ticket cost is $10 for adults and $7 for students.
Please pick up one of our beautiful 11 x 20 posters advertising our production and display in your office, church, etc. We also have 3 x 5 “mini poster cards” that can be mailed or handed to someone. Please pick up a stack and pass them out. Let’s sell out each performance!
GRAMMAR SCHOOL SCIENCE FAIR
Join us in the ACA Great Room this Friday, March 4th, at 7:00 p.m. for the Grammar School Science Fair. Each 5th grader will have an entry for judging, and all of the other grammar school classes will have a science exhibit. Prizes will be awarded for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place among the 5th graders. 5th graders and judges need to arrive at 6:30, and doors will open to parents and friends at 7:00 p.m.
2017 ACA ISRAEL TRIP
The next ACA Israel Trip is scheduled for March, 2017. This trip is open to our current 10th & 11th graders (11th & 12th next year), ACA families, alumni, and friends of ACA. If you are interested in joining this tour of Israel (or know someone who is interested), please contact Mrs. Rhonda Morgan at: [email protected] or 918-638-7799 for more information, or sign up in the school office by March 10th. Signing up just indicates your interest and that you want more information. It is not a commitment to the trip.
SPIRIT WEAR SHIRTS
Did you miss out on ordering a spirit wear shirt in the fall? Are you new to ACA this semester and need some spirit wear? The yearbook staff is planning to submit another order for spirit wear shirts in March. You will find the order form attached below. Orders are due in the school office by March 4th.
EIGHTH GRADE TRIP
The trip itinerary and permission slips were sent home on Monday for the upcoming 8th grade trip. The permission slips are due in the school office by Friday, April 1 with a $50 deposit. If you have questions or need more information, please contact Ms. Becki at: [email protected]
The Hen House is growing, and we’d love to have you join us! The Hen House is our ACA moms’ group. We meet on Friday afternoons at 2:00 to socialize and coordinate volunteer efforts for the school. NATIONAL LATIN EXAM & ANDERSON BIBLE TEST
Next week our students will have the opportunity to participate in the National Latin Exam on Tuesday and the Jean Anderson Bible Test on Wednesday. The Latin Exam is for all of our students currently taking Latin at ACA. The Anderson Bible Test is for any of our high school students who are interested in taking it. ART CLASS NEEDS
Our Art teacher, Mrs. Thornhill, is in need of styrofoam egg cartons for her art classes. If you have any of these you can donate, please drop them off at the school office.
CAMPBELLS LABELS FOR EDUCATION
Campbells is making a change and after this school year they will be discontinuing their Labels for Education program. For ACA that means that we have one more chance to turn in labels for credit toward classroom supplies! If you have been saving Campbells labels, please bring those to the school office by March 31st so we can get them turned in to Campbells before the end of the school year.
