The Charger Newsletter

A BIG THANK YOU to all of our volunteers who worked during “Beauty & the Beast”.  The director, cast, and crew really appreciate you!  Thank you also to Mrs. Post, Mrs. Redden, and Miss White for all of your work with the cast!  Our students were amazing!

Mark your calendars for Friday, December 2nd at 6:30 p.m.  The “ACA Christmas Quilt” is an evening of music, oratory presentations, fun and fellowship. Due to a very busy fall schedule, we are combining our Faculty Follies and our student Christmas Concert into one very special event this year.  Our Show Choir, faculty, small groups, grammar and secondary classes, as well as our Houses, will be performing throughout the evening. This is an ACA family event for the whole school and we will be honoring our teachers by taking up an offering for their annual Christmas bonus. Please plan to attend; but if you are unable to join us, you may make a  donation online or at the school office. Secondary students attending must come in High Convocation dress and Grammar students are to wear their regular school uniform.  We look forward to seeing you there as we celebrate Christmas and fellowship together!

When: Friday, December 2nd, 6:30 p.m.

Where: Highland Park Christian Church, 5708 E 31st Street, Tulsa  (between Sheridan and Yale)

We need your help!  If you would be available to help with the set-up or the clean up at Highland Park Church, please contact Mrs. Cathey at [email protected] to volunteer.  Thanks so much!

Second quarter is moving right along, and on Monday, November 21, we will distribute Five Week Progress Reports to students.  You can also review your student’s grades at any time using Gradenet.

Thanksgiving Break is next week!  ACA will be out of school on Wednesday - Friday, November 23 - 25 for Thanksgiving Break.  We hope you have a blessed holiday with your family and friends.

Since we will be on Thanksgiving break for the final Friday in November, Mr. Post has declared THIS FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 18th, as a Spirit Wear Day for everyone.  No coupon necessary!

Would your student like to have a whole week of spirit wear?  The 8th graders are sponsoring a week of spirit wear, December 5 - 9.  This is a fundraiser for their 8th grade trip in the spring.  Students can purchase the entire week of spirit wear for $10 or two days of spirit wear for $5.  All students (and teachers) can participate!  Regular spirit wear only, except that students may choose to wear Christmas sweaters/shirts on one of their days (Dec. 7, 8, or 9).  Christmas shirts & sweaters must be Christmas themed and not “homemade” with items pinned or taped on.  Please see Ms. Becki (in the office) the week of November 28 - December 2 to purchase spirit wear wristbands.

Would you like to honor your graduating senior or another special student with an ad in the yearbook?  There are only two pages available for ads, so don’t delay!  A quarter page ad is $50 and an eighth page ad is $25.  Contact Mrs. Ellis at [email protected] and let her know you would like to place an ad and she will have a yearbook staff member contact you about the look & content of your ad.  The deadline for ad submissions is THIS FRIDAY, November 18th!  Questions?  Call or stop by the school office or contact Mrs. Ellis.

The monthly lunch order forms for December are now available in the school office and are attached below.  If you are ordering for the month, please turn in your order form and payment by November 22.  Please note that November 28-30 are on the December order form.

Our 5th & 6th graders enjoyed a day of STEM experiences today at Camp Loughridge.  They were very excited about spending their day at the camp learning about science, technology, etc. instead of in their classrooms!  They studied animal tracks, leaves, and learned to use a compass along with many other things!

Our school office hours are 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.  If you need to reach someone outside of office hours, please email [email protected] .
