The Charger Newsletter

Our annual Alumni Day is tomorrow and we will have an adjusted class schedule for our secondary students so that they can interact with our alumni in assemblies and workshops.  You will find that schedule attached below along with the list of workshops our alumni are presenting.

It’s Spring Fundraiser time again! Our annual spring fundraiser is fast approaching and we are in need of your assistance. Each year, in addition to fun trivia, we have had a lot of exciting silent and live auction items donated to our cause. Disney World has once again provided 4 Park Hopper passes for our event, and we want to see what clever ideas you may have. In the past, donations have included PAC tickets to Wicked, time-share vacations, automotive detailing (“pampering”), music and dance lessons and much, much more. If you or anyone you know would be willing to donate an item or service, please contact John Ahrens at [email protected] .  It is a great way to promote a business and a wonderful way to support ACA!

More details will follow, but as a teaser: this year’s Trivia Night event will be held at the Tulsa Country Club and dinner will be provided!  So, mark your calendar for Saturday, February 25th at 6:30 p.m. and don’t forget to choose a table theme. It will prove to be an evening of fun and great ACA entertainment.

The spring musical for our Junior Performing Arts Company will be “Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory”.  The audition workshop will be held on Saturday, January 14, 9:00 - Noon.  All ACA students in grades 4 - 8 are encouraged to come to the workshop!  More information and registration forms will be sent home with students this week!

Winter Court is the annual formal banquet for ACA high school students. It is designed to celebrate being part of the Kingdom of Christ and our unique relationship with each other as brothers and sisters in the Lord. A King and Queen will be crowned and seniors who choose to will be inducted into the New Order of Augustine alumni organization.

This year Winter Court will be held on Friday, January 20, 2017, beginning at 6:00 p.m.  It will be in a new location – the Tulsa Country Club, 701 N. Union Ave. in Tulsa.  All ACA high school students are encouraged to attend!

Tickets for Winter Court are now on sale and cost $42 each.  Tickets will not be available after January 13th.

ACA students are allowed to bring a date from another school provided that their date is willing to respect the purpose and standards of this formal evening and dress according to the dress code below.  Dates from another school must have their parents sign a consent form (available in the school office).

1. All dresses must be tea or floor length

2. All dresses must have a modest neckline. That is, it must be no lower than mid-back and reveal no cleavage in the front.

3. Any dress slits must go no higher than the knee

4. Gentlemen must wear tuxedos, dark suits, or coats, dress slacks, and ties.

All young ladies must have their dresses approved. They may bring their dress to the school for approval or they may send pictures of themselves in the dress they plan to wear (front & back) to the following email address for approval.  (If emailing pictures, please indicate your name and/or the ACA student with whom the young lady is attending.)  [email protected]

Mark your calendars…  The Junior Class Skating Fundraiser will be at Skateland (1150 S. Sheridan, Tulsa, 74112) on Tuesday, January 10, 2017 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m.  This family event is open to all ages!  Bring your friends!  A “Donut Party” will be awarded to the Grammar Class & the House with the most skaters in attendance!

Junior Parents: We need your help either as a party sponsor or to help at the actual event, please sign up with Dawn Murphy-Williams by calling  her at 314-952-3320.

Maybe you totally forgot?  Or maybe you just haven’t made the time to do it yet?  Whatever your reason for not ordering your student’s yearbook yet… it’s not too late!  Simply go to: and click on “Buy Yearbook” in the upper right hand corner of the page.  Then just follow a few simple steps and BOOM! - you’ll be done and can check that off of your “to do list”.  Order a yearbook for each of your students, or just one for your family, but your students will want to have the yearbook to look at in the coming years.  You cannot order at school, so go to:  and get your book ordered before the final order deadline.  Yearbooks will be distributed in May, 2017.

When winter weather hits the Tulsa area, ACA will announce closings on Channels 2, 6, & 8.  We will also send out a message through SchoolWay which can come directly to your phone!  If you haven’t yet downloaded the SchoolWay app, please see the attachment below for more information about how to get it for your phone.

Our school office hours are 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.  If you need to reach someone outside of office hours, please email [email protected] .
