The Charger Newsletter

The “Willy Wonka” auditions are TOMORROW . Audition times are as follows:

Grades 4-5 : 3:30 – 4:45 pm. Please pick up your child IN FRONT of the PAB – the door facing Sheridan.

Grades 6-8: 4:45 – 6:30 pm. If students are staying after school, they need to walk over to the PAB after school. We will rehearse with this group until their auditions. They will be dismissed at 6:30 from the PAB door facing the school parking lot. Jr. High students need to bring water and a snack.

Parents, please remember to send with your child all the forms marked “RETURN TO AUDITION” as well as the World’s Finest Chocolates Fundraising Form, and either a $50 deposit or payment in full.

Thank you for your patience with this week’s last minute meeting change. The Grammar School Parent Meeting has been rescheduled to Thursday, January 26th. Mr. Post will meet with parents beginning at 6:30 p.m. in the Great Room followed by classroom meetings with the teachers. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.

This time of the year is a notorious season for flu, colds, sinus infections, and overall yuckiness. We ask that you remember the school policy. If your student has diarrhea, vomiting, and/or fever they are not allowed at school. The student must remain home until free of those symptoms for a full 24 hours.  We appreciate your help with this as we would like to keep our students and staff healthy!

Due to our evening student activity this Friday (Winter Court), all grades will be dismissed at noon.  There will be no lunch available and no after school care available.  Please make arrangements to pick up your students by 12:15 p.m.  We appreciate your help with this and apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

It’s Spring Fundraiser time again! Our annual spring fundraiser is fast approaching and we are in need of your assistance. Each year, in addition to fun trivia, we have had a lot of exciting silent and live auction items donated to our cause. Disney World has once again provided 4 Park Hopper passes for our event, and we want to see what clever ideas you may have. In the past, donations have included PAC tickets to Wicked, time-share vacations, automotive detailing (“pampering”), music and dance lessons, restaurant gift cards, original artwork, jewelry and much, much more. If you or anyone you know would be willing to donate an item or service, please contact John Ahrens at [email protected] .  It is a great way to promote a business and a wonderful way to support ACA!

As a reminder, this year’s Trivia Night event will be held at the Tulsa Country Club and dinner will be provided!  So, mark your calendar for Saturday, February 25th at 6:30 p.m. and don’t forget to choose a table theme. Even if trivia is not your thing, come out and support ACA. It will prove to be an evening of fun and great ACA entertainment.

Join us for dinner at Chipotle on Thursday, January 26th, between 5:00 and 9:00 p.m. and support ACA while visiting with other ACA families.  Just present the flyer (attached below), or show it to the cashier on your phone, and Chipotle will donate 50% of the total of your bill back to ACA!  This event will be at the 41st & Hudson location only!  Please join us!

We are very happy to “shine a light” on a recent campus improvement. For those who were a part of the East Coast Trip and Willie Wonka meetings last night, you may have noticed our new exterior building and parking lot lights! If you happen to visit our campus at night, you will now have the added security of knowing our walkways and our parking lots are very well lit. This was spearheaded by one of our ACA grandparents, John Hathcoat, and was made possible with recent donations received by the school. To our donors and to Mr. Hathcoat, we want to extend a huge “THANK YOU!” Please see the attachment below for a preview look at the new lights.

Show choir will be delivering Singing Valentines again this year on Tuesday, Feb 14th.  Cost of Singing Valentines (that are delivered 9am – 5pm) are $25.  We are running a January special for our ACA parents and Staff. You can purchase a singing valentine for $20 if purchased and paid for by Jan 31st.  See order form attached below.

Attached below is the monthly lunch order form for February.  Please note that it begins on January 30th!  If you wish to order for the month, please turn in your order form and payment to the school office by Friday, January 27th.  This monthly order form is for your convenience only… students may still order their lunch each morning.

Ordering a yearbook is easy!  Go to and enter our school’s code:  1014725638033905.

You will have the option to personalize two pages of the yearbook for your student.  These pages will only appear in your child’s book and can cover any family or personal memories from the year.  (Yearbook Staff will review pages for appropriate content.)  You can come back to this step later - just remember your log-in information!

Yearbooks will be delivered at senior graduation in May! Don’t miss out!  Only $35.00, but yearbooks must be pre-ordered.

When winter weather hits the Tulsa area, ACA will announce closings on Channels 2, 6, & 8, and we will send an email blast.  We will also send out a message through SchoolWay which can come directly to your phone!  If you haven’t yet downloaded the SchoolWay app, please see the attachment below for more information about how to get it for your phone.

Our school office hours are 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.  If you need to reach someone outside of office hours, please email [email protected] .
