CHOCOLATE BAR SALE EXTENDED!
The deadline for selling boxes of chocolate bars has been extended to March 31 to give families a chance to sell boxes over spring break. Don’t forget that the top seller will receive $200 CASH! The 2nd place seller will receive $100 CASH and the 3rd place seller will receive $50! A 5 pound chocolate bar will be awarded to every student who sells 5 or more boxes of candy bars! To be eligible for prizes, all money must be turned in by 3:30 p.m. on March 31! Stop by the office and pick up a few more boxes to sell over spring break! Remember this is the only fundraiser our Performing Arts Dept. does and we use the proceeds to pay for lighting and sound for our musicals.
“WILLY WONKA” POSTERS AND CARDS
Help us get the word out to the community! We have beautiful posters advertising “Willy Wonka”. If you can put one up in your office, in your church, or other venue, we would greatly appreciate it. We also have 4x6 poster cards that can be handed out or mailed. Posters and poster cards are available in the school office.
SPRING BOOK FAIR
Our Spring Scholastic Book Fair will be held March 27 - 31. It will be open 7:30 - 4:00 each day, but we will need several volunteers to help us with it! Please see the volunteer form attached below to sign up to help during one of the Book Fair days. If you have questions, please contact Mrs. Murphy-Williams at: 314-952-3320.
SEEKING CARPENTERS AND CREATIVE MINDS
We have several carpentry projects and a very creative design project needed for “Willy Wonka”. Carpentry projects include building (or refinishing) the Candy Man’s candy cart; a Headboard and a Footboard for the Grandparents bed, two life size bottles of fizzy soda, and the Gobstopper Machine that produces Violet’s gumball. Mrs. Post has photos of all projects. All supplies will be furnished…we just need your skills and creativity. Each of the projects are due March 31st. These are great projects for CAST PARENTS (“Willy Wonka” or “Beauty & the Beast”) that need to complete their volunteer hours. Call Mrs. Post (918-852-2040) or Mr. Post (918-832-4600) if you would like to take on a project or if you have questions.
Attention all Grammar School dads (especially 1st-4th grade dads):
ACA has been blessed with a gift of about 80 student desks that are newer and in much better shape than our current desks. We will be utilizing them in our 1st through 4th grade classrooms, but need some assistance in picking them up from our friends at Metro Christian Academy. If you have a pickup truck or trailer (or both) and would be willing to donate some time to help Mr. Post coordinate a pick-up of these desks, please reach out to Mrs. Cathey at [email protected] . We will schedule the pick-up based on your feedback and availability. Thank you in advance for your help with this!
JEAN ANDERSON BIBLE AWARD
We encourage all of our high school students to enter this Bible contest on Friday, March 10th. The winner receives a new Bible and a $300 account credit that can be used for tuition, lunches, Winter Court tickets, New Life Ranch, etc. Contact Mr. Post for more information - [email protected] .
AUGGIE AWARDS DATE CHANGED
This year only, the Auggie Awards ceremony date has been moved to SATURDAY, MAY 6TH, 6:30 – 9:30pm, instead of May 5th. This year, it will be held at Highland Park Church in the gymnasium. This is the huge awards ceremony for all Performing Arts Students and Parents. Students are asked to dress up (we encourage high school to recycle their Winter Court clothes). More information will follow later.
This time of the year is a notorious season for flu, colds, sinus infections, and overall yuckiness. We ask that you remember the school policy. If your student has diarrhea, vomiting, and/or fever they are not allowed at school. The student must remain home until free of those symptoms for a full 24 hours. We appreciate your help with this as we would like to keep our students and staff healthy!
“BEAUTY & THE BEAST” DVD’S
The dvd’s of our fall production of Disney’s “Beauty & the Beast” are now available in the school office. If you pre-paid for your dvd, it has already been delivered to your student. If you did not pre-pay, the cost is $20 each. We also still have dvd’s of last year’s productions of “The Sound of Music” and “Seussical” available for $20 each.
IT’S NOT TOO LATE TO PURCHASE A YEARBOOK!
Ordering a yearbook is easy! Go to www.TreeRing.com/validate and enter our school’s code: 1014725638033905.
You will have the option to personalize two pages of the yearbook for your student. These pages will only appear in your child’s book and can cover any family or personal memories from the year. (Yearbook Staff will review pages for appropriate content.) You can come back to this step later - just remember your log-in information!
Yearbooks will be delivered at senior graduation in May! Don’t miss out! Only $35.00, but yearbooks must be pre-ordered.
DON’T FORGET THAT DAYLIGHT SAVINGS TIME BEGINS THIS WEEKEND! SET YOUR CLOCKS FORWARD ONE HOUR ON SATURDAY NIGHT!
