THANKSGIVING BLESSING FOOD DRIVE

WOW! ACA really came through for our Thanksgiving Blessing Food Drive!! Pastor Davis and his staff at Vision Family Ministries were amazed and feel so very blessed to be able to feed the poor and homeless on Thanksgiving day with the amazing donations from our families. We raised over $400 in cash and supplied them with enough canned and dry goods to feed an army of those who are homeless and alone this Thanksgiving. What an amazing opportunity this has been. Thank you again!

SALT & LIGHT CHAPEL

Next Monday, November 28th, will be our last Salt & Light Chapel of the semester. Our guest speaker this month will be Kevin Hern. Mr. Hern has been a McDonald’s franchisee since 1997 and currently owns 10 McDonald’s restaurants in the Tulsa area. In April of this year, Mr. Post and Mr. Ahrens had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Hern at the Greater Tulsa Community Empowerment Awards banquet where he received the award for Business while ACA received the award for Education. Mr. Hern was the keynote speaker and has an amazing journey of faith to share. He is also the Chief Financial Officer for all McDonald’s franchisees while also devoting his time in service to our nation, running as a candidate for Oklahoma’s First District of the United States Congress. Secondary students must be in High Convocation on Monday! The secondary class schedule will be adjusted to allow our guest more time in chapel. Please see the adjusted schedule attached below. Parents are welcome to attend. Chapel begins promptly at 9:50 and will run until 10:50 with a Q&A segment at the end.

CHRISTMAS QUILT PROGRAM

Our “Christmas Quilt” program is an evening where we gather together as a school family to express God’s blessings through a “patchwork” of songs and scripture. Your students have been practicing Christmas songs, as well as the song origins, and scripture memory and they will be sharing what they have learned on Friday, December 8th from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. at Evergreen Baptist Church (located at 10301 E 111th St. S. in Bixby). You will not want to miss this exciting evening celebrating Christmas! More details regarding the evening will be coming soon.

Each year, at the Christmas Quilt program, our parents honor our amazing teachers by taking an offering to provide their Christmas Bonus.   Please pray about how you would like to bless the staff at ACA this Christmas.

WHAT CAN YOU DO TO HELP BUILD A STRONG FUTURE FOR ACA?

As a reminder, an amazing opportunity has been presented to ACA by a Tulsa-based Foundation. We have been issued a $650,000 Matching Challenge to help erase all of the debt currently held by Augustine Christian Academy. We have over $15,000 already contributed to this exciting campaign through direct donations as well as employer match gifts! Thank You, to those of you who have already acted on this call to action.

So, what can you do? Ask yourself who you know that may be in a position to assist us with this challenge. They may be an individual who has seen the fruit of the good works happening at ACA, or they may work for an organization that supports education, the arts, STEM, and/or a Classical Education. Many times, they just need to know that the opportunity exists. Please share or ask us to speak with them to share this amazing, time-sensitive opportunity. The Board of Governors and Administration encourage you to visit our website at: https://www.acatulsa.org/contact/invest-aca/aca-debt-relief-matching-challenge  to learn more. Click on the PDF on the website to download the information. Please give prayerful consideration as to how you may participate. Feel free to address any questions to John Ahrens at [email protected]

SPIRIT WEAR WEEK

An entire week of Spirit Wear?  YES!  The 8th Grade class will be sponsoring a Spirit Wear Week December 4th - 8th.  To participate in Spirit Wear Week, students must purchase a wristband to wear during the Spirit Wear week and the wristbands will be for sale the week of Nov. 27 - Dec. 1.  A wristband for the whole week will cost $10, or a wristband for two days only will cost $5.  The proceeds will go toward the 8th Grade Trip in the spring.

EAST COAST TRIP FUNDRAISER

The East Coast travelers are starting a fundraiser with “Fun Pasta”. We are excited to sell Fun Pasta because there is a large selection of items, great price points, and fun products for everyone. These can be great Christmas gifts too! The link below will take you to our page. When you go to check out you may choose to support just one student or the entire group.

We thank you for your supporting our students’ field study opportunity. This field study will take our students to Boston, New York City, Philadelphia, Washington D. C. and Williamsburg/Jamestown. They will have the chance to see history come to life and hopefully gain a deeper appreciation for this amazing country we live in. We would also welcome donations toward the costs of the trip!  Any gift large or small will go a long way.  Thank you for considering a purchase of Fun Pasta!
