SALT & LIGHT CHAPEL

Next Monday, January 22nd, is our next Salt & Light Chapel. Our guest comes at the specific request of many of our students who have taken part in the American Heritage Girls program we used to sponsor on campus. Bob Walter has been instrumental in speaking into the lives of our youth through training them in the High Adventure and Survivalist programs of the Boy Scouts of America, American Heritage Girls, as well as Trail Life USA programs. Please join us as we honor a Green Beret and Veteran of the United States Army, Bob Walter.

The class schedule will be adjusted to allow our guest more time in chapel. Please see the adjusted class schedule attached below. Parents are welcome to attend. Chapel begins promptly at 9:50 and will run until 10:50 with a Q&A segment at the end.

“MADAGASCAR” WORKSHOP

Our Spring musical for our 4 - 8th grade students will be “Madagascar, Jr.” and will be performed in April.  The “Madagascar” Audition Workshop will be held on Thursday, February 1st, from 3:30 - 6:30 p.m.  The auditions for “Madagascar” will be held on Saturday, February 3rd, beginning at 9:00 a.m.  This is a FREE workshop, but students must be pre-registered!  All ACA students in grades 4 - 8 are encouraged to attend.  See the registration form attached below or pick up a form in the school office.

WINTER COURT

Winter Court is ACA’s annual formal banquet for high school students, served by selected junior high students.  At Winter Court the official Class of 2018 portrait will be taken, the Senior Banner will be introduced, seniors will be inducted into the New Order of Augustine, and a King & Queen of Winter Court will be crowned, in addition to the delicious appetizers and meal that will be served.  All ACA high school students are encouraged to attend!  Students wishing to bring a date from another school must request a “Guest form” from the office and have it completed before they will be able to purchase a ticket for their guest.  This year Winter Court will take place on Friday, January 26th, at 6:00 p.m. at the White Hawk Golf Club in Bixby.  Tickets are $40 per student and tickets are on sale through Friday in the school office.  Young ladies must have their dresses approved by Miss Crow or Mrs. Ellis and young men must wear a suit & tie or tuxedo.  Please see the Parent/Student Handbook ( https://www.acatulsa.org/about/academics/parent-student-handbook ) for more information about the appropriate attire for Winter Court.  Please contact the school office if you have any questions.

School will dismiss at noon for all grades (K4 - 12) on January 26th because of Winter Court that evening.  There will be no lunch served and no after school care available.  The Junior High students who are serving at Winter Court will be excused from their Friday morning class, but must report to White Hawk Golf Club in Bixby at 1:00 p.m.  Those Junior High students serving will bring home more information this week.  Junior High students not serving at Winter Court will report to their Friday morning class.  Contact the school office if you have any questions.

COFFEE & FELLOWSHIP

Join us each morning when dropping off your child(ren) for school. Take an extra few minutes to park and start your day with some great fellowship as well as a great cup of Java Dave’s coffee.
