FAMILY GAME NIGHT
Fun for the whole family! Family Game Night will be THIS Friday, September 28, 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. in the ACA main building. There will be table games, card games, video games, Giant Chess, Spike Ball, and more for families to play together or against each other! Cost is $2 per person with a maximum of $10 per family. Home baked goodies & salty snacks will be available to purchase. Join us for an evening of friendly competitions! This event is sponsored by the 8th Graders and proceeds go toward their spring trip.
We need to ask that our ACA families not park in the Akdar Shriner’s parking lots. On Friday evening, we were informed that we no longer have permission to park in either of the Shriner parking lots. It is our desire to reconcile this with their leadership, and we will work to do so; but, in the meantime, we must ask that you use the ACA parking lot for all activities until we are able to resolve their concerns. There may also be times when the Vision Family Ministries parking lot is unavailable for use, and we will post signage if we are unable to use that parking during events. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
OCTOBER LUNCH MENU
The October monthly lunch order form is attached below and is available in the school office. If you are ordering for the month, please turn in your order form and payment by Friday, September 28th. Students may still order first thing each day and may still use a lunch ledger; this order form is for your convenience.
FALL COLLEGE EVENTS FOR HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS
There are many great college events coming up this fall and we want to let you know about them. High school students and parents should make an effort to attend as many as possible as they will learn a great deal about the college search process, college admissions and various colleges and universities themselves. 4th Annual FAFSA Night - Friday, October 5th from 6:00-8:00pm. This is a free event offered by ACA and NSU-BA. Financial aid specialist, Bobbi McKinney, will be with us again to help interested senior families complete their FAFSA. Please come with your tax information from this past spring. If you would like to take advantage of this great opportunity, please have both your student and parent FSA ID’s already created a few days before the event. You can’t complete the FAFSA without them. The seniors have all of this information in the packet that I already prepared and gave them. Chad Cargill ACT Prep Class - Tuesday, November 6th from 8:30-11:30am. This class is offered on our campus once a year. It has been a popular class for our ACA students in the past, so we are happy that we are able to offer it again this year. Cost of the class is $35/student and will include hand-outs as well as his presentation of great test-taking strategies. Mr. Cargill will also have his prep book for sale the day of the class for those interested in purchasing it. Please sign up with Ms. Becki in the office. This event is also open to the public, so homeschool students are welcome to participate. Please spread the word to your homeschooling friends!
PLC (President’s Leadership Class) Conference at NSU Tahlequah - Thursday, November 8th. This is a full day of leadership activities offered by NSU’s President’s Leadership Class. Interested ACA students have attended this the past three years and have enjoyed it each time. There is a PLC scholarship that students can apply for that can pay their entire college cost at NSU, if chosen as a PLC member. Students will learn about this scholarship during their day on campus. There is a cost to attend this conference and I will send out that information as soon as it is available.

Friday, October 26th is the ACA Trivia Night event and it will be held at Highland Park Christian Church. This year, we have a Harvest theme and the price of entry will be $5.00 worth of canned or dry goods. You may also make a greater donation, if you wish, as the food will be going to feed the needy and homeless this Thanksgiving in cooperation with Highland Park Christian Church and Vision Family Ministries. Please see the flyer attached below!
The evening will be a great opportunity to introduce your friends to ACA. There will be no fundraising ASK as we simply wish to expand our exposure to more families. So, invite your church friends and other families who need to hear about our amazing school. Put together a team of 8, or join a team when you arrive. Students in high school are welcome to attend and be part of your team. Please call the office to register your team of 8 and reserve a table. Registered teams may decorate their tables and even wear costumes! Doors open at 6:00 and the Trivia fun starts promptly at 6:30 and will go until 8:30. Mark it on your calendars and plan for a very fun evening. (Sorry, but there will not be child care available.)
